Description

Cozy Adirondack style 3 bedroom cabin nestled on 2 acres on the west side of Brant Lake. Waterfront parcel is just down the street, with a dock for fishing or boating. After your daily adventures in the mountains, relax in front of the great stone hearth.

The space

This cozy 3 bedroom/ 2 bath Adirondack Camp has all the amenities of home with the charm of the north country mountains. Relax in front of the hearth or the outdoor fire pit, while away hours on the porch, sleep fitfully to the sound of cicadas. A wonderful getaway, yet with so much to do nearby! The house was originally constructed in the early 1900s and incorporates the original barn connected to the house sometime in the 1930s. Our large living room features the stone heart two couches and a comfy plush chair to relax, and a television. A 'game room' and reading area is located on the other side of the center staircase and includes a sleeper sofa. The game room leads into the mudroom, laundry closet and first-floor full bath with tub/shower combo, as well as directly into the renovated barn addition that includes a family room space, open bar kitchen, dining area and games. Our second floor features a full bath with a claw foot tub (includes a shower as well), and 3 bedrooms adorned with cedar log beds and furniture. The largest room has a queen size bed; the remaining two are double size beds. There is a futon in the common space at the top of the stairs. Outdoors, over our 2 acre property we have woods to expore, a natural stone fire pit, a covered area by the garage for grilling or sitting out of the rain, lawn chairs, lawn games and a small pond at the bottom of the property. We are across the road from the lake, but, due a wild forest area between the water and the house, there are no lake views from the house, only at the dock (see further detail).

Guest access

Parking that house is easy and plentiful on the circular driveway, which is level and easy for summer or winter. We have a boat dock and access to the lake to launch canoes/ kayaks just down the street. There is also a free public sandy beach on the Mill Pond section of Brant Lake.

Other things to note

We provide all bed linens, comforters and pillows, and encourage guests to bring their own beach & bath towels. Please bring your own shampoo and other hair products.
PET POLICY DETAILS-we welcome your closest family friend, but we are strictly limited to one animal under 70 lbs in weight, must have all shots and papers. Guest responsible for additional pet fee of $50 / night, and responsible for cleaning up any animal created messes both inside and outside our home. Pets are not allowed on bedding or furniture, and are not to be left alone unattended in the house unless crated - there are no exceptions.

Suitability Details
We do not allow pets unless special permission is granted. If you are going to drink alcohol here, please do so responsibly and without destructive behavior and without leaving a mess on carpet tables etc. Under no circumstances is under-aged drinking allowed.

It is your responsibility to take your own bottle returns, we do not do that for you. Trash may be left in trash cans in the shed. There is no smoking inside the home. Shoes must be left on Shoe trays or entrance mats at the doors. Please do not ruin the light-colored carpet with mud and water.

Remember that we are in the mountains and our sanitary sewer is on a private septic system. Flushing any objects other than septic system-approved toilet tissue may result in loss of sanitary sewer and ruin a weekend, to say the least!

Please properly dispose of any other items. Do not move the furniture into other rooms. It is hard for one or two people at a later time to put them back. And please, make sure the number of guests is accurate. We carefully select our guests and avoid overcrowding our home. Thank you for considering us!

Great vacation

Our time at Brant lake was fabulous. All the fun games that were provided kept the entire family engaged from ages 14 all the way up to the young age of 80. We can not thank you enough for our amazing vacation and for the memories we made.

Family Vacation - Brant Lake 7/17-24

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your lovely home. It was well equipped and spacious enough for us all to spread out and have are own space when the weather did not cooperate. We enjoyed all the games provided especially the tiki toss. We hiked many of the nearby trails and swam and kayaked in the lake. We even had the pleasure of watching a group of deer munch on the red berries from the pantry window. Thanks again for letting us stay in your home.

Posting of vacation rental was accurate and everything was as stated.

My family and I were very happy with this place. It has plenty of common space, that accommodated my family of seven. This place is somewhat secluded, with plenty of outside space. We really enjoyed the fire pit where we spent most of our awake hours and cooked most of our meals. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
Yes I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a low key, quiet place to get away and yet if you're interested other activities you don't have to go far to find them.

Peaceful

Aside from 1 shower not working the the water leak in the opposite bathroom the home was nice. Nice location and quiet. I'm sure the issues with the bathroom will be addressed so it's a good place to get away.

The cabin was absolutely immaculate

Our family of four had a really fun time at Todd's cabin over Presidents' Day weekend. The cabin was absolutely immaculate - totally spotless! The decor is really nice and cozy, with Adirondacks charm and plenty of places to sit together, or separately, to chat, relax, or read. The kitchen was well stocked, with every utensil and pan we could have needed. Todd was a great host and very responsive when we had questions. The cabin location is quiet and woodsy but we saw a few other neighbors/area visitors along the short walk to the lake and liked that we didn't feel completely isolated. We stayed close by on the first day, with the kids playing ping pong and Tiki toss inside and even using their sleds and tubes right in the sloped yard. Cocoa by the wood stove after taking a walk on frozen Brant Lake was perfect! The second day we went sledding over at Dynamite Hill and our boys had a blast (haha, but they really did enjoy it.) We were happy to see we could sign into our Netflix and Prime accounts on the big TV in the living room for movie nights. We were also very grateful to be able to bring our dog and she loved running up and down the yard. It was a really wonderful, much needed change of scene for a wintry three day weekend. Thank you!

Winter wonderful- cozy by the fire

We had a great stay at this home. It was snowing and full on winter. We appreciate that the driveway was frequently plowed and the owner had salt ready for the steps/walkway. We loved sitting by the fire and enjoyed the air hockey and pool table. Kitchen was well stocked. We particularly liked the pots and pans (The Rock brand). Never heard of them before and may look into getting them for ourselves. Thank you for a very enjoyable break from city life.

Great spot in the Adirondacks

Spent MLK weekend at the property. Todd the owner couldn't have been more helpful and the house was a perfect rustic get away for our family and dog. Horicon is close to great hiking, skiing and the town over has a public sledding hill thats great for kids. The yard also has a decent hill for sledding closer to home. The location, condition of property, fireplaces and snow made it the perfect winter getaway. Would highly recommend this property!
