Lake George Cottage- Recently renovated! Enjoy your couples or family vacation at one of Lake George’s premier lakeside retreats.
Our cottage rental is part of a 21+ acre association located on the east side of Lake George in the southern basin on the shores of the beautiful Harris Bay. Takundewide is an association with 30+ cottages, a 700'+ sandy beach and a large dock complex with rooftop sundecks appointed with Adirondack chairs and umbrellas. An amazing place for morning coffee, family dinners or to enjoy some of the most beautiful sunsets of the summer.
There is a large expansive grass area for games and lounging by water leading to the association's private sandy beach. Additional amenities include tennis courts (with Pickleball lines), swing sets, a large slide for younger “thrill-seekers.” and the four large sundecks mentioned earlier. The dock complex provides additional access to the lake for swimming, fishing, and floating in the refreshing waters of the lake. Perfect for families! We are located near the tennis courts, only a few minutes' walk to the lakefront beach and docks.
Back at our cottage, enter through the screened-in porch with an L-shaped couch, then into the den/kitchen area with a 46” smart TV and kitchen table. There are 2 bedrooms plus a loft. The 2 first floor bedrooms have queen beds, the loft has 2 twin beds and a small area for kids to sit on the floor and watch TV. There is a full bathroom on each floor, both with a tub/shower.
There is central heating and air conditioning (no noisy window units), a full-size washer /dryer, and a Bosch dishwasher along with new granite countertops and a new refrigerator in the kitchen. The kitchen is fully appointed and the table seats 4. We should note that the majority of our meals are outside on the outdoor furniture that seats 6+. The screened-in porch is perfect for your morning coffee or to relax with a good book.
Outside we have a Weber gas grill, a large round table with 4 chairs, a picnic table plus 4 additional chairs, and 2 chaise lounges. There is a large firepit in front of the house that we share with a few of the neighbors. No invitation is needed to start the fun and once the fire is going, there will be plenty of company to share a drink or make your favorite smores.
There is a local restaurant about a mile down Cleverdale Road called the Sans Souci. Fun family-friendly local place to enjoy dinner. You can also check out the Cleverdale Country store and it's live music/dinner specials /wine & beer every Thursday night!!
Hiking, golf, outlet shopping, and Six Flags Great Escape are a few of the activities within a short drive. Lake George Village is less than 7 miles away and visiting the Sagamore Resort and the town of Bolton Landing is a short drive for a nice afternoon.
Come join us for a fun family vacation or couples getaway!

This is our home and we do not rent our cottage as a business. This is where we spend most of the summer and the furnishings and amenities reflect this. We are only renting for a few weeks to share this wonderful place with a few other families.
Please keep this in mind and take care of our home and respect our neighbors/friends.
We hope you enjoy the beauty of the lake as much as we do!
Thank you in advance!
Steve & Diane
This is our second trip to this great little hideaway at Lake George. The cottage is quaint and clean with great ammenities. A very short walk to the beach and fishing. My daughter caught so many fish it seemed like they jumped onto the dock. We were a bit early for a dip in the cold waters but just watching the sunsets from the Adirondack Chairs on the seating platforms by the beach was enough. If you want the Lake George experience with the resturants and shops it is a short ride from the peace and quiet of the cottage. Plan to get up there again as soon as possible. Great rental. Thanks

We visited in July 2021 and had a wonderful long weekend away. The cottage was recently remodeled, is very clean, well appointed and has everything you need. You can tell this is not a typical serial rental, that the owners spend time here. The cottage is a very short walk through the association grounds to the lakefront. It is located next to the tennis courts. Takundewide is a unique association that gave us many options for things to do. The association grounds are very well maintained and the boathouses roof decks, sandy beach and grass (behind the beach) provided many options for us to access and enjoy the water and views. We fished, kayaked, floated and relaxed on the beach and sundecks. Being on the east side of the lake, we enjoyed longer afternoons of sunshine and beautiful sunsets. We also took advantage of the firepit in front of the cottage and met some neighbors.
While we did not have our kids with us, we were impressed with the number of children of all ages playing in the water, beach and on the swing sets etc. There is a mix of owners and renters in the community who are friendly and welcoming. We walked to the country store in the mornings, hiked Buck Mountain also went to the Sans Souci restaurant down the street.
We spent 4 days here and then 3 days at the Sagamore. While the Sagamore was a wonderful Resort, we were surprised how much we really enjoyed the cottage and our time at Takundewide. This is a wonderful place to vacation with kids of all ages and couples as well. Thank you to Diane and Steve for being wonderful hosts. We will be back with the whole family!
