OUR HOUSE IS FULLY BOOKED FOR 2022
Welcome to our lakefront home in the Adirondacks. Enjoy a secluded and private lake (Lake Hadlock) with many activities close by. Lake Hadlock is about 10 miles east of Lake George and is much less busy and crowded than Lake George, but equally as beautiful. Our home has 4 bedrooms (3 kings, 1 queen, and 2 twins (bunk beds), and 3 full and 1 half bath. There is a large screen home theater in the finished basement. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, cookware, and a separate beverage fridge. There are 2 kayaks available on 1 of the 2 docks on the lake and we have a kayak launch to make entering and exiting the kayaks very easy and safe. The lake has one of the highest water qualities in the state of New York and the swimming is great. The lake is warm enough to swim in by Memorial Day and we have a large swim platform with a ladder about 50' from the shore. The water level is less than 1' deep against the shore and about 40' deep at the swim dock. We also have stairs (with railings) from the lake bottom to one of the two docks.
There is a screened-in porch (although insects are rarely ever noticed) and a large gas grill for barbecuing. There is central air conditioning, fast Wifi, a full-size washer and dryer, and a back-up generator The house is about 12 miles from Lake George Village and all the activities in and around Lake George. Hiking trails of all levels of difficulty are close by. Enjoy ice cream and 2 miniature golf courses at Hillbilly Fun Park less than 2 miles down the road.
In the winter there are several ski areas nearby: West Mountain - 20 minutes; Gore Mountain - 45 minutes and Killington - 1 hour.
The house is well suited for persons who have challenges walking as the entrance to the house is only two small (and wide) steps from the driveway and there is a bedroom (queen and bunk beds) and a full bath with a walk in shower on the main floor. Also, the lakeside deck is on the same floor and persons on the deck can easily communicate with those in the water.
The house is less well suited for very small children as there is not much yard and no beach. The water at the lake front is shallow, but the bottom is a slab of stone.
This is our personal vacation home (not a full time rental), so you will find it to be in excellent condition inside and out. We rent the house for only two weeks a year.

There is large driveway with room to park 4-5 cars. Power (and sail) boats are allowed in the lake and a small boat (jet ski, sunfish) could be tied at our dock, however, there is no way to launch a boat from our property (unless you can carry it down). We have a neighbor about 1/4 mile down the lake who will launch and remove boats at his property for $25. There is no public launch as this is a private lake.

We purchased this home in 2016 have made several upgrades during our ownership. We love the house, the lake and the area and spending time with friends and family at the house.
The Lakefront ADK Escape house is great! It is a classic-looking mountain retreat with a modern kitchen, a spacious interior and thoughtfully and comfortably furnished spaces. The bedrooms are generously sized and will accommodate a rollaway bed if you need one (it has two).
The deck is very large, with a table seating eight-plus comfortably, and comfortable Adirondack chairs and a swinging couch. The rock stairs to the water are a bit challenging—not recommended for children under five. The floating swim dock is great and the water temp on the small lake was warmer than we’d expected in the Adk’s. The lake is relatively quiet, the occasional jet ski notwithstanding. The house has two easy to launch kayaks and many floats. The kids—6, 8, 10–loved it.
Owners Jeff and Kristen are caring hosts—from the thoughtfully stocked kitchen to towels to games and movies--and their easy availability. We (3 generations of 10 people) had a wonderful time and the vibe of this house definitely contributed to it. We highly recommend it.

Les, glad you enjoyed the house and the lake.
Our family has been vacationing in the Lake George/Hadlock Lake area for over 20 years and I can honestly say all the other places we stayed, paled in comparison. The online pictures do not do justice... the house is spacious, private, immaculate, beautifully decorated, and the views of the lake were amazing. Being on Hadlock Lake beats Lake George, hands down. But you are still close to the outlets, restaurants, and the village .If I had to use three words to describe our vacation it would be: peaceful, re-energizing and family-oriented. We were able to complete 2 puzzles, go kayaking, swim AND take in a movie or two in the in-home theater. Also, there were a great supply of games for family game night. My favorite place was the screened in porch where I loved to read and listen to the rain.
Our hosts, Jeff and Kristen, anticipated our every need and answered any questions we had. They added many thoughtful and inviting touches that made us feel immediately welcomed and at home. The whole process of renting, from beginning to end, was seamless.
For us, this was by far a perfect choice for a relaxing getaway and would highly recommend this lake house to anyone looking to unplug and enjoy family time.
Thank you to Jeff and Kristen for going above and beyond in helping us to feel comfortable and at home! We look forward to returning to Hadlock Lake soon!

Nancy, thanks so much for taking the time to review our home. You were our first renters and we were not really sure what we were doing, but it sounds like it worked out well. Kristen and I agree that Hadlock is preferable to Lake George - quieter, warmer and private.
