We love this place. Family friendly, convenient location, cabins are always clean and have the necessary things you need. We have been going for two years now and plan to keep going!

What an amazing experience at Hide-a-away. This was our first family vacation in 3 years, and it was beyond what we could have hoped for.
We stayed in the Lakefront cabin, which is beautiful. My wife and I both wished we could have taken it home with us.
Our 7 y/o son had a blast. We kayaked every day, leaving the kayaks right at the dock steps away from the cabin.
This place is also centrally located to everything we wanted to do, which was hike.
We went 2 weeks before the summer rush, which could have contributed to why we loved it so much. It felt like our private getaway.
Kelly is also so kind and helpful. The whole staff is nice.
We can't wait to go back next year.
Thank you to everyone at Get-a-away!

My family had the best time at Hide-A-Way Cottages! It is a magical hidden gem in the Adirondacks. The cottages are very clean. They have an assortment of water crafts to use. A small playground. A beach on beautiful Lake Vanere. Outdoor ping pong, volleyball, badmitten and children's toys. Kelly is amazing and made us feel right at home. We have made new friends and will be going up there as much as possible.

Great little hideaway
We needed a dog friendly place when we were picking up a puppy nearby. I was so pleasantly surprised by the cabin. It was immaculate, and far nicer than the pictures we saw online. Kelly was as nice as could be, and we really enjoyed our two nights there. It was a little chilly, but nice enough to enjoy one evening by the fire pit and Adirondack chairs places outside each accommodation.
The kitchen was well equipped, and the drip coffee maker had even been updated to a Keurig. There was a small market very close and Avery well stocked market a few minutes drive away. We enjoyed dinner at the very nearby Long Horn Pub one night, and picked up takeout the next night to eat in the cabin, enjoying the lake view.
I could happily enjoy a longer stay to use more of the amenities when the weather warms up just a little bit!

Beautiful views of the lake. Extremely clean cabin. Cabin came with pots, pans, silverware, coffee maker, along with mugs and cups for the kitchen. There is a very nice beach with plenty of chairs.

Had a terrific time here! Owners were very accommodating. Cabins were clean and stocked with all the basics. WiFi worked great so we could use our phones, tablets and laptops. We never ran out of things to do! Firewood and charcoal were available for sale on the premises. Highly recommend this resort!

A weekend getaway
The one thing we were unprepared for and did not see in the pictures was the fact that the front of our cabin was also the resort's parking place. This created two problems - the lack of privacy and sometimes the lack of parking for our own car (the parking is on the first come, first served basis). Fortunately the Summerhaven porch is protected by shrubbery so we could still enjoy our breakfasts there and see the lake.
The property has a lot to recommend it. The cabin we stayed in, Summerhaven, had a lovely view of the lake, a veranda where we had our meals, and a grill. The inside was clean, the bedroom and the living room had TVs, the shower was new and the kitchen was really well-supplied with a variety of utensils, pots and pans. The lake was right there and boats and canoes easily available. Most importantly, the owners live on the property and when we had a parking issue in the evening we called on Peter at 9:30 pm and it got resolved.
