Description

Close to sightseeing, hiking trails, mountains and every imaginable Adirondack adventure, this magnificent log lodge has provided restorative connection to many generations. The privacy of the bedrooms balanced with communally shared spaces and access to the great outdoors allow for easeful gatherings of friends and family. Nestle next to the fieldstone fireplace, share a meal or play a game on the screened in porch, swim and explore in kayaks from the expansive lakefront; fun for every season!

After years of camping on Piseco Lake, Helen and Len Andrew bought two lots across from their favorite campgrounds and built their dream vacation home. For generations now, the lodge has been a family gathering place, a launch pad for adventure, and beloved refuge. Now their daughters, Marcy and Beth, along with a collective of friends and family, care for and share the lodge. Even the grandkids are learning to grill, kayak, and install new toilets.

Some of our favorite things to do? Paddle to Rocky Bend. Place scrabble on the porch. Drink coffee first thing on the porch swing in the morning. Do puzzles late into the night. Cook feasts and bake cookies. Hike up the Panther Mountain trail to Echo Cliffs. Words that come to mind when we think of our beloved family vacation home are: restorative, connective, nourishing, spirit-filled, expansive enough to cradle the full spectrum of family joy and struggle. We feel generations of loving care in each beautiful room, exemplified by our mother’s meticulous stitches in her handcrafted quilts.

The privacy of the bedrooms balanced with communally shared spaces and access to the great outdoors allow for easeful gatherings of friends and family. There are guidebooks and maps on the shelves to provide insights into activities that will make your stay memorable. Our guest books offer a glimpse into the adventures (including a few calamities), laughs, feasts, celebrations and the fun times that have been had over the past 30+ years at the lodge. We hope you’ll love the cabin as much as we do.

The Lodge: This incredible 3+ bedroom log lodge sleeps 13 and features a peaceful, private setting on the waterfront. Perfect location: Close to sightseeing, hiking trails, mountains and every imaginable Adirondack adventure. The fall colors are unbeatable! Lake Piseco is well known as a bountiful fishing area. The Piseco Lake Lodge across the lake makes fresh doughnuts daily during high season. Piseco has its own historical museum, a playground at the local school, and an airport. Speculator with its mountain bike trails, Oak Mountain downhill skiing and tubing area, classic department store, general store and ice cream shops are a short 20 minute jaunt. The Adirondack Experience Museum on Blue Mountain Lake is one hour away. There is great antique shopping within an hour. Scenic day trips to Old Forge, Lake George or Saratoga Springs are within 1.5 hours. For those seeking a ski vacation, there are many ski areas nearby including:

Oak Mountain: 20 minutes

Royal Mountain: 36 minutes

Gore Mountain: 53 minutes

Woods Valley: 56 minutes

Killington: 2 hours 45 minutes

Okemo: 2 hours 40 minutes

Lakefront: With 400' of lake frontage, there are splendid views of the distant shoreline, rising mountains, and spectacular sunsets. The water is shallow for a good distance--perfect for young children. In the summer, a raft is moored deep enough for diving. If the lake is low there's a small beach area with a campfire ring, a picnic bench and Adirondack chairs.

Interior: A fieldstone fireplace centers the great room providing glowing warmth and charm to the living and dining areas. Custom cherry cabinetry adorns the fully outfitted kitchen with views of the lake and woods. The large screened-in porch offers outdoor seating and dining areas. Enjoy the view of the lake from an Adirondack chair on the expansive deck. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully appointed and there are full baths on all 3 floors of this 2,650 sq. ft. home. There are sofa beds in the upstairs loft, the ground level suite and the recreation room.

Activities: The recreation room on the ground level has a flat-screen TV, a collection of games and puzzles, and a ping-pong table. Three kayaks, a canoe and lots of water toys are available. With lots of nooks and crannies, this is the ideal house for playing hide and seek. The lodge is a dream for kids!
