Camp Idylwilde is a year-round home nestled in 4+ secluded acres on the shore of crystal clear Gull Pond. The completely private, winterized cabin has mountain views and is situated on 600 feet of waterfront, surrounded by tall pines. You have to look hard to see signs of other houses or people. The property offers ample space for meandering exploration and quiet solitude.
The cabin's open architecture creates a great environment for families to gather together and enjoy the restorative, natural setting of the property. Gull Pond, known for its pristine water quality, is a private, 1-mile long, glacial lake, near the village of Tupper Lake. It is a non-motorized body of water with excellent fishing and unsurpassed privacy.
The lake covers more than 350 acres and is supplied by natural springs with a depth of 75 feet. In the spring of 2021, the decor was expertly updated with an eclectic and contemporary mix of mid-century modern furniture and location-inspired, whimsical art. Every room is a delight with interesting details. There are beds for 10 people, with three comfortable bedrooms and a spacious sleeping loft. The fully appointed kitchen has an island and looks out toward the dining area and great room. The vaulted ceilings allow two stories of windows to flood these areas with light and provide views of the water and leafy green surroundings. Two wood-burning stoves in the living areas provide an atmosphere and warmth.
The stairs go up to an open sleeping loft, or you can step down into a second family room area, with couches and a flat-screen TV. The entire downstairs is lined with windows looking out to the water and mountains as well as sliding doors providing access to the deck that spans most of the width of the house. Off the great room and adjoining the deck is a comfortable and inviting, screened-in porch that you won't want to leave. Camp Idylwilde is the perfect combination of peaceful Adirondack beauty and access to 4-seasons of recreational activities.
Summer activities are endless. Swimming, canoeing, boating, fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, mountain biking - just to name a few. Winter activities include snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, or reading your book by the fire.
There is a canoe, two kayaks, and two paddle boards available. Paddling on Gull Pond is awe-inspiring. You will look up to stunning views of the mountains and peer into the clean, clear water. You can even fish the pond from your paddle boat or just listen for the loons. The foliage in the fall will take your breath away. There are plenty of things to do in the vicinity.
The village of Tupper Lake is a 15-minute drive away so you're never far from supplies and amenities or a night out at a local bar or restaurant. Visit the Tupper Lake website for more on local activities, eateries, and shops. Another favorite attraction for families is the new Wild Center in Tupper Lake. Check out the Adirondack Rail Trail for a great way to explore the lesser-known ponds and vistas.
Lake Placid is an hour away and provides a full day-worth of sightseeing, shopping, and dining.

This property is 100% worth the trip up north to the Adirondacks. The house pairs a perfect balance of modern design and amenities with Adirondacks charm. We spent our days kayaking, paddle boarding or just sitting on the doc taking in the spectacular views. The “gull pond”, as its called on the map, is almost 1.5 miles wide with spectacular views situated between multiple mountains. Additionally, the way the lake is populated, each house sits back from the waters edge, which gives you the feel of having the lake to yourself. The house is very well stocked with anything you could ever need to cook up a 5-star meal. Given the opportunity, we would definitely come back to this amazing lake house.
