Privacy and beautiful views
We booked the cottage for a short getaway. The driveway was steep as posted on the website, and with our big truck with a bike rack on the rear, it made it kind of scary. You definitely will need 4x4 to get up the driveway. Once we arrived from the very private dead end road, the house was very clean. The layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms are a bit wonky with some steps up and down due to the cottage being remodeled from an existing cottage. The separate queen bedroom on the far end of the house was nice for privacy. The house itself is rustic and decorated well. The boys loved the large third floor bedroom with the 4 twin beds. Outside, the water was crystal clear and there is a small wading beach. The firepit is situated on the edge of the breakwall and you can sit in the chairs and enjoy the view. If you have a boat, the Switz is directly across the lake and the Lakeside is around the bluff and would be super easy to go for dinner and back. The fishing was great and we caught a catfish, a rock bass and a few chair pickerel from the dock. The boats going by said there were lake trout about 50 feet form the shore. If the water was warm, the swim dock would have been used but we did take advantage of the paddleboat. I would suggest bringing a snorkel so you can see the fish while swimming. I would highly recommend this house!!
