A wonderful holiday at the five finger lakes

Hi Folks! We are a family with two boys (11 and 10) from Germany and we had the great luck to find this little house directly placed at the Honeoye Lake. After 4 days of NY Citiy and Niagrafalls, full of impressions and lots of walking we arrived at this little Cottage of C.`s. Already at the first sight over the lake we where refreshed after all the hurry we had before. We really enjoyed to stay at this house because we had time to rest in the peace of the waterfront and at the same time it was an adventure for our kids who where playing softball on the huge lawn in front of the house and went canoeing and rowing with C.´s boats. We had day trips to waterfalls, flyfishing course in Keuka Lake (nature museum) and went fishing with friends of ours at Canandaigua Lake. In between we just relaxed on the terasse or on the closed porch of the house (if there where a few drops of rain), overlooking the lake.

In the mornings the sun was shining on the balcony of the house and we had our first tea in the morning sun or we were sitting at the dining table, the sun shining on our breakfast table and at the same time looking on the lake, seeing the boots floating at the little docks.

As we were on holiday with lots of time an no work, we loved to cook in the really good equipped kitchen and even had our friends for dinner. The nearby supermarket (3minutes drive) has everything you need and you don't miss any leasuretime, because you have no long way to get what you need.

The house itself is really nice, cosy and clean. As there are 2 Bedrooms, you even have your privacy in the night. If you are there with more than 4 people, there are 3 big really comfortable couches to sit on in the evening or I could imagine even sleep on them.

There is a huge TV and even Wireless Lan in the house, so you don't need to miss civilization.

Since we are back to Germany, we are looking for a similar house, but we didn´t succeed jet. Eventually we have to go back to C.´s house I guess.

Looking foreword to it!! C. is a great host, very trustworthy and even coming from Germany we managed to find the House and got every support from him we needed. It is really worth planing a holiday or even a weekend there! Recreation will be guaranteed.

Simply Relaxing

This is where you go when you want to just get away to a quiet yet accessible vacation home. We (our family of three) enjoyed the easiness of it - it has its own parking space, front and back places to sit and enjoy family time, a really well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and the park out front is just great. When we weren't just chilling out, we were a quick drive to Rochester destinations. We live on the other side of the Finger Lakes and wanted to have a stay-cation without really staying home. We had a great week thanks to all the detail Chuck put into the home.

Though we didn't take advantage of it - this is a great place to stay if you are into fishing and nature trails (Cummings Nature Center is nearby). Also, be sure to check out the Craft Lab in town - they have a fantastic selection of handmade soaps that are really wonderful to use (if you forget soap like we did).

Let's celebrate the 4th of July in style...!!!

We have been renting in the park for 17 years. We enjoyed the lake part in all of them.

After renting Chucks place it was the best of all. Well equipped, clean, parking for guest

and plenty of room. The outside of the cottage offered a variety of shade and sun.

many rental property's don't have that. Mostly fenced in gave us ease with grandkid's

running around. You can't beat the Park right in front. And on a rainy day you can sit on the front porch gaze at the lake and see how many word's you can make out of the

sign "Sherrbrook St. (we got 82 words) on that rainy day.

Great place and we will be booking again.!!

Cheers Chuck

Home away from home!

Our family really enjoyed our week's vacation stay at Chuck's cottage at Honeoye Lake. We felt like we were at home taking advantage of much needed rest and relaxation. So much so, we didn't want to leave by the end of the week. The place was very clean and Chuck provided all the necessary amenities. He thought of everything to make our stay convenient and comfortable. We also rented his row boat. For some of our family members, rowing was a first-ever experience and so was fishing. We had 2 meals of fish for dinner! We definitely want to return to Chuck's cottage, maybe for 2 weeks next time. Thanks Chuck

Great!!!

This place was really Great !! The first day we were greeted by Chuck who couldn't have been more nice or accomendating . He gave us a tour of the place and gave us great information about things to do locally. Our first impression of the house was that the pictures online didn't do it justice. It has a very nice kitchen , an open living room and the upstairs has a breathtaking view of the lake. My family had fun renting a plantoon boat with inflatbile , roasting marshmellows in the firepit , and my little boy enjoyed the playground. It was definitely a good expirence and we are thinking of planing another trip there in the future!!

Loved Honeoye Lakefront Cottage!!

The home was clean and well kept with all the amenities the family needed. The bedrooms are all spacious and very clean. We had a great time. Overall, a very nice stay for a peaceful getaway for our family. We would come recommend this property for families and plan to return again when we visit the Finger Lakes. Thanks for having us at your property and for your hospitality! ** The town is small but has everything that you would need - gas station, restaurants, grocery store, etc. We also drove to Rochester. We also took a day trip to Dansville to visit Stony Brook State Park. The cottage is also within a 10-20 minute drive to Canandaigua. I would definitely recommend this cottage to any friends and family - great for all occasions.

Loved our Stay!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were thrilled with the spacious rooms and newer appliances in the kitchen. The green space in the front of the cottage was a wonderful place for the children to run and play and burn off energy! We discovered Stonybrook Park in Dansville which was approximately 40 minutes away - a beautiful park with a great playground for the kids, easy trails to hike (we hiked with two 5-year-olds!) Waterfalls, wildflowers, rock formations, simply beautiful. There is also an amazing spring-fed pool. You have to see it to believe it. We rented a party boat at the nearby marina which provided a great day of fishing, swimming, tubing and relaxing. Our only disappointment with Honeoye Lake was the beach. There is no sand, just dirt and gravel and the water was loaded with algae. the beach is the only reason for a less than 5-star rating. The cottage was wonderful and extremely well maintained. It was very apparent to us that this owner takes great pride in his property and considers this a home, not just a rental property.

Relaxing Getaway

Wonderful, relaxing place to getaway for a weekend or more. I have stayed at this cottage many, many times over the years and it is by far one of my favorite places to visit!

It is always clean, well kept and well maintained. It is great for any time of the year. Amazing lake and park front property, with Sandy Bottom beach close by. Also close to Bristol Mountain Ski Resort for a winter getaway. Ample comfortable sleeping space and roomy floor plan.

I would definitely recommend this cottage to any friends and family - great for all occasions.

Great Cottage

Recently, my wife and I went and stayed at the cottage with some friends for the weekend. Not only was the cottage itself comfortable and accommodating, but the surrounding area and views were exceptional. The cottage is located right on Honeoye Lake, complete with an great view of the lake from both a first floor and second floor balcony/porch. The cottage is also within a 10-20 minute drive to Canandaigua, which has many restaurants, antique shops, great sight-seeing spots, and wineries. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a great vacation spot or weekend getaway.
