Modern fresh Cottage on the St.Lawrence River!

The "Heron" cottage of the Lodges at Oak Point on the St. Lawrence River is a lovely place to stay! Heron cottage is clean & roomy with fresh un-treated wood interior, 2 bedrooms on the first floor (one king bed w/ full dresser and nice closet space and one room w/ 2 singles -also w/ closet space), and a loft bedroom with 2 single beds on the 2nd floor. The decor is minimal & pleasing and the kitchen is functional and sunny w/ everything you need - great storage closet, china and wine glasses, utensils, dishwasher. The cabin has ample seating for dining and lounging w/ family sized glass topped table in the dining room and a chair swing on the screened in porch facing the river. Plenty of portable and moveable tables and chairs for impromptu dining al fresco closer to the river. The front screened in porch faces the river & islands and has an idyllic view. The bay is protected and calm for swimming and perfect for children -you can wade into the waters for 25 meters and stay at hip height water. There's a public dock next to the lodges private dock so you will see others frolicking daily but everyone was friendly/courteous and was never a ruckus during my stay. There are 3-4 neighboring cottages which makes the perfect place for friends and family to join you on a river vacation. The neighboring cottages are quite close to one another but the guests maintained a quiet courteous and private manner during my stay. I recently stayed on a hot week with temps reaching above 95 deg but the river breezes kept us cool along with the fans and cooling system of the cabin although there is not air conditioning. We joked that their fan is a single engine airplane on the roof but we liked the din created by it for sound privacy. It cooled well! Strongly advise to rent a boat (Adventure Bay inn will deliver) because every day we spent exploring & drifting on the St. Lawrence river to visit the neighboring hike-able islands of the Canadian National Parks. Every day felt like a getaway! Gas up at Blind bay marina. Advise to assure boat comes with nav to protect from shoals. We had dinner at nearby Foxy's restaurant and were able to dine/shop in Alexandria bay and Clayton NY (Channelside) w/ riverside seating.

This would make the perfect place to host family and friends for a summer stay with a group of cottages. Would make a perfect early fall getaway when summer quiets down. The host Lisa welcomed us kindly and had a binder of organized info needed for our stay.
