Perfect vacation HOME for Family and Friends

We went there on Friday, from New York City, and took reached at little late at night. But Richard was very helpful and supportive in the whole checkin process. He even guided us for the best route possible to get there. (GPS was giving different exit) He then gave us the tour of the property, which was very nice of him, considering we reached so late.
The property has 3 bedrooms, living room has nice pullout bed. The main attraction of the property was the Backyard. It has everything you would need for perfect family time. Fire pit(Unlimited wood available), closed sitting area in case you want shade, hot tub, gas grill, and a pool(not functioning due to COVID) . Richard has a lot of games(Volleyball, basketball, football, badminton etc),basketball net installed in the parking area.
The kitchen is fully equipped and guests can use all utensils and grill equipments, disposable plates, cups etc. Huge dining table in the kitchen area is also useful for dinner and lunches.
Lot of towels and sheets also available.
The property was clean and well maintained.
In Case you need any help, Richard lives next door. You can just walk up to him or call him.
Incredibly safe locality, the town has 600 people and everyone knows each other, and no one bothers the guests at all.
We were out chilling in the backyard all night and no one complained.
Lake George and boat rentals l(many of them) are just 20-25 mins drive from the place, which was perfect.

Family Getaway

The house has everything you need to enjoy a weekend getaway with family. We are a family of 12, 6 adults and 6 kids slept comfortably. At night we enjoyed sitting near the fire pit making s’mores, listening to music. We also enjoyed afternoon out and about Lake George, about 30 minutes away. If the pool was up and running, we probably would have never left the house. Thank you Richard again for your hospitality!

A great way to escape everyday life!

The Stony Brook retreat was a great home. Plenty of room for my family. The backyard and the pool are amazing. The owner is very personable. I would definitely go back. 5 stars

2nd stay! Happy we returned for the 2nd summer.

This was the 2nd time my family and I rented this property and we were all so happy we decided to come back. The house is very clean, well maintained and Richard was very warm and welcoming. The kids enjoyed the pool and played with the various games he had available for them in the yard while the grown ups sat by the fire pit and enjoyed some drinks and grilling. Richard was kind enough to recommend things we could do around town and told us about the Rodeo nearby. That was the best BBQ we've ever had! The last night we sat at the bar across the street and enjoyed the live band which was really, really good! We look forward to returning a 3rd time! Till next time Richard, thanks for having us!! :-)

Amazing place

A nice little out of the way town for a break from every day life. Perfect location for day trips into Lake George. Richard was a great host. My son loved the pool and all the toys provided. We will definitely be going back.

A wonderful getaway.

We were four generations vacationing together and we all enjoyed it. There was plenty of room in the house for all of us and so much room outside. We spent a lot of time at the pool each day with all the pool toys provided by Richard. We used the gas grill to cook our dinners and the screened in gazebo to eat our meals. There were also many outdoor toys provided to keep the children busy. At night enjoyed the wonderful fire pit to roast marshmallows. We even spent indoor time putting a 500 piece puzzle together. The stay was so enjoyable that we really didn’t want to leave.

Great Family Getaway

We went to Stony Creek for a three-generation family vacation. The house was roomy enough to spread out, yet able to accommodate our group of nine so that we could all be together. We all enjoyed the pool, fire pit, games and gazebo as we spent time outside. The local area has some great hiking trails and popular destinations are just a short drive away. Richard was a wonderful host that offered suggestions to help make our vacation the best it could be. If we return to that area, we would look forward to staying at Stony Creek Retreat again.

Family friendly, clean, cozy and close to town

So glad we found this spot! Richard was super friendly and hospitable. The house was very clean, cozy and fit our family of ten comfortably. Our kids had a great time at the pool and also enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the fire at night. Supermarkets and other shops were only a few minutes away and Lake George Village was about 25-30 minutes away but an easy and beautiful drive. Would definitely come back here!!! Thank you for having us Richard!!!

Great place and owner!

First, let me say that Richard is fantastic! Coffee and milk there waiting, fresh flowers on the dining table. Clean facility, great pool, and he’s just so friendly! We loved our stay and are already planning when we can come back!!
