Overall Great Stay with Some Quirks
Overall, this house fit the needs of our group extremely well. We were a group of 10 in our late 20s and 30s, and a few in our group brought our dogs. We only stayed Friday through Sunday, and the owner was flexible with our arrival and departure time (which was greatly appreciated!). He was great with communication by text throughout the weekend. The backyard was large, and the hot tub was perfect for the cool weather. The decor of the house is extremely dated, but again, it fit the needs overall of our weekend stay. We cooked almost every meal at the house because of COVID-19 restrictions, and it was lovely having the space to do so. We had to sign a lease for our three day stay, which I and my guests (most of us lawyers) were not accustomed to. I was personally let down by two details that were advertised at time of booking: (1) the "kayak/ canoe" and (2) the jetted tub. There was no kayak or canoe for use at the property. We were hoping for this since there are Suffolk County beach restrictions related to COVID-19. Luckily, we were still able to visit Pike Beach with no issue. I let the owner know about how let down I was by the lack of a kayak or canoe for our use. His only response was that I could rent one locally, which I found to be rude. The jetted tub would not plug, and so I was also unable to use this feature of the home. Overall, great stay for our weekend needs. I'm not sure that I would book again at this price point.
