Perfect for our group!

We visited the Grand Meadows Lodge as a group of 4 families with 11 children all together. The downstairs living area/game room plus bunk room gave the kids their own space, and everyone appreciated that the adults and kids had their own areas to relax. Temperatures were well below zero for a significant portion of our stay so we really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna too.

Whiteface is only a short drive away as are the Olympic facilities and Lake Placid, but the house is located on a quiet residential street. There is plenty of privacy. There is not a large grocery store nearby so it was good that we brought most food for our stay with us. The kitchen is large and well-euipped, and it make for easy meal-prep for our large group.

Gene, the property manager, was responsive and accomodating. We won't hesitate to book another stay at the Grand Meadows Lodge for our next group ski trip.

Ice climbing weekend

Great house for a large group. Lots of space and great location to enjoy all the adirondacks have to offer.

WOW!

From the time I contacted Gene to rent the house for my birthday weekend to the day we departed was such an easy and pleasant experience. I can't say enough wonderful things about the house, very clean, great accommodations for all age groups as our age group ranged from 18months to 60years. The beds were beyond comfortable and the house is beautifully decorated. The only thing I would change would be the weather for the weekend as it was raining instead of snowing but thats New York for you! Looking forward to renting from Gene again!

Family Holiday

Our family of 14 were very comfortable at Grand Meadows for another year. Our kids enjoyed the game room, watched movies and filled the bunk room. The adults enjoyed drinks by the fire; shared in meal making and all around had a great vacation with Skiing at WhiteFace. This is a fantastic house and ideal for a large family or several families. Thanks Gene for everything.

Thanksgiving Family Reunion

Our many thanks to Gene (owner) for providing us (and his adjacent property to our family for a Thanksgiving Family Reunion! The house was as described, immaculately clean, charming Adirondack decor, well appointed kitchen, game room, sauna, hot tub and the list goes on! I cannot recommend this property high enough! It was a fantastic and comfortmable stay and one our family will be talking about as a cherished memory for years to come! Thanks Gene!!!

Nothing short of spectacular

My family and I had the pleasure of staying here for 3-nights, and my only complaint was having to leave. The house was clean, and Gene (host) was great to work with. The outdoor space was peaceful and quiet. The location was perfect, far enough away, but close enough to the town to enjoy. You get what you pay for, and this property was worth every penny. I highly recommend booking this property, and I will be back in the future.

The house was just as luxurious looking in person.

Gene was amazing with everything! He was very prompt with answers to all of my questions, and was flexible with arrival and departure times that came in handy since we all came from really far.

The house was AMAZING! It was super clean and well kept. The decorations were a nice touch in making this home feel cozy. There was plenty of space for our group of 15 people. The rooms were beautiful with very comfy beds and enough storage space. There were enough bathrooms for our group which were stocked with toilet paper, and fresh clean towels. The kitchen was stocked with pots and pans which was great since we didn’t pack our own. There were also two fridges that came in handy since we packed so much food. One in the kitchen and one in the garage. The game room was packed with games that entertained everyone while the food was cooking. This house provided the best stereo system. We all brought our own speakers since previous houses did not have them, but were surprised and excited to see that the stereo system was not only provided but also worked really well and was easy to use. The windows in the dinning area made it easy to let fresh air in without the bugs. The view from the house was very calming, especially when relaxing on the hammock. When posting pictures to our own individual social media, everyone commented on how beautiful the house and landscape were. They also wanted to know where we were at and more info on the house. We all had a blast and did not want to leave. I would for sure rent from Gene again!

*side note* our drive was 6+ hours but definitely worth the drive. Everyone in my group wanted to buy this house!

It was amazing

We spent the weekend here for our wedding and everything was perfect! The layout of the house worked perfectly for our wedding party to all stay together and the hot tub and sauna were a hit! They made sure everything was set out for anything we needed (example: fire wood). The only trouble we had was that there were a number of bees on the porch but that’s to be expected this time of year. All around, the house and everything about it was a great experience!

Outstanding!

The home is very clean and maintained. We had 16 people and there was plenty of room. We parked in the garage so we could load and unload our car without getting wet from the rain. The back porch has a great view. And,its super easy to find and close to the hiking trails and Lake Placid.

Great house, great location, great time!

My group has been spending a long weekend together in Lake Placid every year for six years and this house has been perfect for us. It had the best layout inside and outside. The firepit was awesome, had great views, and there was plenty of firewood to use. The decor in the house was perfect and everyone felt at home, and we had plenty of room for gatherings as well as privacy if desired. Overall great time and Gene was amazing from the time we booked to 8 months later with our stay. Couldn't have asked for a better person to deal with.
