Beautiful Lodge for Family Getaways

I recently visited Grand Jay and Grand Pines Lodges with a group of extended family members who had all traveled to town for a family event. From the initial inquiry through to the checkout Gene was incredibly responsive and accomodating in all interactions. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed for the babies in the house, including cribs and high chairs. Unlike many vacation homes I've stayed in previously, the house was stocked with more than enough towels, toilet paper, trash bags and the likes so that other than bringing food, all you need to worry about is showing up and relaxing.

Both houses were beautiful and filled with all the amenities you could need for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway near Lake Placid. I would highly recommend any of Gene's properties and will certainly be back again with my family next time we're in the area.

Great weekend

ADK getaway

Grand Pines was one of two houses we rented from Gene to celebrate a 50th birthday weekend with friends and family. House was perfect for our group and had all the amenities needed. Comfortably slept a large group and hot tub, sauna and game room were nice additions. Close to many area activities. Easy communication throughout the process.

Perfect ADK Getaway

We stayed in Grand Pines and a neighboring property to celebrate a 50th birthday. We had all the amenities we needed to enjoy a great weekend. House comfortably fit our group and the hot tub and sauna were perfect to enjoy the outdoor area. Plenty of things to do on site and nearby the property. Would highly recommend.

Great place to celebrate, worry-free

We hosted a bachelor party for my brother MLK weekend. Lake Placid is an awesome area with lots to do (our group loved the Olympic bobsled experience), but we found ourselves hanging out at the lodge a good part of the weekend. The lodge is clean and well appointed. The views from the property were beautiful in the winter. The hot tub and ping pong table were a hit with our guys. The main living room is spacious and open. I was personally impressed with the kitchen because the gas stove and gas grill put out serious heat. We were able to cook up a feast for the guys and all sit together at the dining room table and island. The property is well taken care of, too. For example, we received a LOT of snow one of the nights we were there. Before the storm moved in, Gene texted me with instructions and suggestions given the weather. He and his crew snow plowed the road and driveway several times that night to ensure we were able to get out the next morning. That was one of many times that Gene impressed me with his clear and timely communication. When you rent a house that is well managed like this one, it allows you to focus on taking care of your guests. Thanks to Gene and his crew for a great weekend.

Perfect family getaway!

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay. Everything was in perfect condition. Everyone loved the hot tub and sauna. The bottle of champagne for New Year’s Eve was a wonderful extra touch. We are already talking about when we can return!

Amazing getaway!!

I’ve rented a few times around Lake Placid but this home is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. The home is super cozy and has all amenities that you would expect to have a super relaxing vacation. And tons of unexpected little details that makes this a gem! Owner Gene is super responsive and has multiple homes near by. My extended family stayed a minute away and we had a blast together.

We can’t wait to be back!

Great place to stay for a large family

This is the second time we stayed for the Thanksgiving holiday. The owner is in contact and very easy to reach if needed. Home was clean and ready for our family along with hot tub and sauna! It was a great time!

Yet another phenomenal stay

Just completed my third year staying at the Grand Pines Lodge (10/3 - 10/7), and I have already reserved my week for next October, and I suggest you do the same. October is a beautiful time in the Adirondacks for foliage, and the scenery and view from the house is incredible. Its tucked away in the woods, is very private, and has a stunning mountain view out the large windows from the main living area and wrap around deck.

Feel free to bring the entire family, as there is plenty of room, and things to keep children happy and occupied. Although the house is located on a relatively private drive, it is close to many activities (hiking, whiteface mountain, Lake Placid). The amenities of the house are top notch (two 55" Samsung Smart TV's with Directv, video games, ping pong table, firepit, hot tub, sauna, gas grill).

This is my fourth 5 star review for the owner, Gene, out of four stays at two different places of his (3 of 4 at Grand Pines). He has earned his perfect score due the quality of his homes, and his complete professionalism. I highly recommend this Lodge, or any of his properties which you can see at www.highpeaksrentals.com. I've personally stayed at Ebs View and Grand Pines, but have no doubt the other two properties are top notch as well.
