Not so serene cottage...

This property suffered severe damage from lake flooding in the spring and incessant rain since. There was a tree down in the yard and the yard was really torn up due to efforts to remediate the loss of shore. The cottage should have been taken off the rental market. Sadly there were also many isssues with the cottage itself and we spent most of our stay trying to work with the owner on fixes including a carpenter ant infestation. We had family commitments in the area with no other place to stay or we would not have spent even one night there. We vacated the property two days earlier than planned.

Beautiful Cottage on the Water!

Perfect Little Cottage!

We planned a trip to Niagara Falls but when we started looking at hotel prices, we realized we could rent a home for the same price. This little cottage was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 3 children. Its about an hour drive to Niagara Falls, but it's an easy ride. The home was exactly what we wanted. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The owner was kind enough to even leave water in the fridge for when we arrived. There was also shampoo and soap available! The size was perfect and we loved the updated kitchen and bath. The beds were very comfortable. The property was extremely clean too. The lake was a little difficult to get down to but it does state in the description that it's a rocky shore. Beautiful scene to wake up to in the morning. The only down side is no air, however the owner provides an ample amount of fans. The house cooled down very well once the sun went down. My only suggestion would be a new coat of paint for most of the cottage. There were a lot of scuffs on the walls, but it it is a rental, after all.

Beautiful, peaceful & clean cottage. Amazing view of the lake with great private area for swimming.

This property was exactly what we were looking for a quiet family get-away! The cottage was perfect in size, plenty of room for our family of five (2 adults & 3 teens). The kitchen was stocked with anything you could possibly need to make meals...blender, toaster, plenty of utensils, microwave, etc. Full size fridg too! There was plenty of room to kick back and relax inside and outside. The fire pit was a hit with everyone, so nice having it so close to the lake.
I gave it five stars because it was everything the owner had said it was, and it was clean. Our only suggestion would be to have an AC unit in there for those really hot and humid nights that upper NY gets maybe for two weeks every summer...meaning 90 degree plus and lots of humidity....even though plenty of fans were provided...nothing could cool that cottage down, and it made for very uncomfortable sleeping and lots of bugs. I think an AC just for those times is absolutely necessary for a good nights, especially on vacation. However, the description made it clear that there was no AC, and it was nice that the owner provided numerous fans for each room. And we would definitely rent the cottage again in the future and recommend it to friends and family.

Loved this.cottage

We loved everything about this cottage. It was so clean and.comfortable and included everything we needed for our stay there. It was east to locate, easy to access, in a beautiful, peaceful location. Loved the view of Lake Ontario. Neighbors were friendly. Would.definitely recommend this place.
