Happy to return

This was our third annual family gathering at Xanadu. It is a perfect fit as we are all water activity oriented. We are able to keep three boats at the dock including a 16' sailboat, we use our kayaks and the two provided and the dock works well for swimming. The hot tub is our go to at the end of a day on the bay and lake.
Brad is very accessible and helpful. Our first day we had internet questions and within an hour, he was there to help us log on.
Thank you Brad and Bernie for another wonderful week of memories.

VERY NICE property and house. Mgr very responsive for kitchen needs. A bit sloped if you like lawn games. July 4th celebration was superb.

Memorial Day Stay

Thanksgiving

The property was beautiful and was able to accommodate my big family. The lake and fire pit were amazing. We also loved that there were televisions in every bedroom.
Our only complaints were the cleanliness. You could tell the property hadn't been deep cleaned in a while. There were flies and gnats in the kitchen. Also, although there were two sinks in the kitchen, we didn't have enough dish towels to clean and cook. We had Thanksgiving there so we had multiple people cooking and cleaning at a time, which made it difficult. Also, a couple of the appliances and other amenities didn't work well (can opener, cable kept going out, hot tub stayed luke warm). Overall the property just needs some minor upgrades and a deep clean and I would definitely recommend it. The owner was available and nearby so that was comforting as well.

Beautiful lakefront property!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, cozy lakefront home! The hosts were easy to communicate with and the house had everything we needed!

Better than promised

Our vacation experience was flawless from check in to check out. The Coopers were a lovely couple with great ties to the community. Their home was nicer than detailed and had all the amenities with high quality towels and sheets. The house was spotless and had every extra touch you would hope for. We had three families and grandparents with four tweens (18 total) and everyone had their space and enough community chairs and Areas around the house to encourage many nights of togetherness. We will be back if they will have us .... we are an enthusiastic bunch! Blessings to the Coopers and of you are using the reviews to make a decision, use this one to book!

Wonderful Stay

Our family booked the property for a holiday visit after Christmas and we really enjoyed our stay. The main floor has a great open layout - the kitchen is well equipped and works for prepping food for a large group. The view from the main floor and also from the two back bedrooms on the second floor is really pretty. The hot tub was a fun added element. The house was family friendly and both the youth and adults in our group felt like they could relax and enjoy the space. Highly recommended.

Beautiful rental property !

This property was amazing ! Had everything you can imagine and lots of space for large groups. We were there for a wedding so didn't have enough time to take advantage of everything the property had to offer but will definitely consider renting again ! Owner was very responsive when we had to call late at night because we forgot the code (Sorry !) Beautiful house, amenities and views !

Best Family Vacation Hideaway

Located on West Bay Road outside the quaint village of Fair Haven, NY, our family enjoyed a wonderful week at Xanadu.
Owners Brad and Bernie Cooper were there to help with minor issues of WIFI going out and the awning on outside deck of the house.
There is a large two tiered dock to pull in a boat and room for 6 grandchildren to fish and enjoy jumping off to swim in the bay.( Easy access to the boathouse where the kayaks were locate). Plenty of room on deck above the boathouse for adults to sit and supervise activities below.
The house has an open plan on the first floor - both kitchen and living room having views of the bay, with table seating for 14 of us. The deck outside the area has seating for 20 and the perfect place for outdoor dining/morning coffee. Even though the yard slopes to the stairs to the dock, it was large enough for soccer and frisbee games. Evenings were centered around the firepit.( no problem getting firewood as a family has a stand selling bundles across the street) You can enter house on the lower level where the home theatre seating is, bathroom, refrigerator, sink , pool table and large bedroom.
Upstairs 3 bedrooms provided sleeping for 8 people.
Our family vacation was so memorable that we have booked for 2020 already

What a VIEW!

The view from Xanadu is AMAZING! You can see much of the bay and even some bluffs off in the distance. We had 15 people in our group and plenty of space for everyone. We had a great weather week and spent a lot of time in the water and on the boat and kayaks. Even did some fishing in the bay and caught 7 different species of fish. The high water level in the bay and subsequent 5mph speed limit just added to the serenity of this property. Kitchen is as advertised, spacious and well equipped. The 2 refrigerators were essential, and the large island allowed for easy prep without bumping elbows. Super neighbors! Willing to help us if we got in a pinch. Brad and Bernie were great hosts and responded quickly with solutions to the couple of minor requests that we had.
We loved Fair Haven and would certainly consider going back!
