Beautiful and comfortable.

What a wonderful, undiscovered retreat we found at Trout Lake. The cabin and lakefront at this property were top notch - clean, comfortable, accessible and pleasing in every way. We loved the hot tub and used it almost every day - stoking it made the whole thing more of an adventure. Thanks to Ken and his family for thinking of everything in the kitchen and in the whole house. We highly recommend this vacation home for those who truly want to get away from it all.

Amazing Lakefront Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Cabin. The property is right on the water with a fabulous view and hot tub. The cabin is well appointed and had everything we needed. We cooked most days at the cabin and enjoyed the kayaks, motor boat and swimming in the lake. Ken was responsive, helpful with suggestions, and easy to work with. Will definitely be back!

Parents Weekend Getaway

We just returned from a very pleasant and relaxing weekend on Trout Lake while visiting for SLU parents weekend! The setting was peaceful and views were incredible of the lake. The house was rustic but charming and comfortable. The cedar hot tub was quite unique and a hit since the weather was a bit chilly! We had a great time overall and would not hesitate to rent for future trips to the area.

Awesome waterfront!! Best on the lake!!

The lodge was beautiful. Old and new coming together. The waterfront was well laid out with plenty of room for the entire family. The wood burning hot tub was a huge hit for everyone. The fishing was great. We caught rainbow trout and smallmouth bass every day. The neighbors were all friendly and so were the people in town. We are already planning our trip for next year!!

A perfect oasis

My extended family and I (6 adults and 6 kids) just returned from Rustic Lodge on Trout Lake with full hearts. The house itself is incredibly charming, very clean and so inviting. The beds are all very comfortable. The house well-supplied.

Rustic Lodge is located on a little cove at one end of Trout Lake and had so many amenities we enjoyed: a motor boat, kayaks, a canoe, a swimming platform, a fire pit and best of all the wood-fired hot tub. Rain or shine this fairly remote property kept us fully entertained. The kids didn't once ask for a device! Who needs screens when the fish are biting like crazy and the lake water is warm enough to swim in even on a rainy day.

We only tore ourselves away from the property twice - both times for a hike. Be advised that the closest grocery store is 35 min. away. If you want a big town and lots of restaurant options or a lake packed with tourists speeding by on water skis, this isn't the place for you. If you want to wake up to the sound of loons and to watch the mist pull back on the lake as you sip your coffee then it is.

Ken (the owner) and his wife couldn't be nicer. We ran out of firewood (enjoying that hot tub a little too much) and they were over the next day to replenish our wood (from their own woodpile I might add). Best you book this property soon before we beat you to it! ;-)

Beautiful and convenient location

First of all I would like to say that Ken Reger and his wife Beth were extremely helpful and quickly addressed any questions or concerns we had with the utmost professionalism. They made the stay stress free and made sure everything was ready for us.

The house itself was very well organized. It was fully stocked with everything you would expect to find at home, making it easy to transition for our stay there. The appliances and amenities were well maintained.

We booked our vacation after labor day, so there weren't that many people around, making for a private and peaceful vacation.

We had a wonderful stay and made full use of the boat for fishing and sightseeing. We also took full advantage of the outdoor hot tub. The location itself is beautiful and very tranquil. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great lakefront experience.

Paradise on the Lake

My family traveled from California to explore the Adirondacks with our son who is attending Cornell. This is our second trip to a lake in the region and I have to say that this property really provides a sense of paradise! It took some time to get there but once we arrived and saw the lake our jaws dropped as the sun was setting over the trees and the water sat like glass. The outside was perfect with the exceptional docking and ample chairs and lounges, the outdoor fireplace, the cedar hot tub, the boat house with a motor boat, kayaks and canoe. The house was gorgeous! We loved how the owners maintained the rustic decor with quality furnishings and rugs. It was very cozy yet spacious. That is the way to do it! We were 7 adult vacationers and all had our own separate areas. The upstairs bedrooms and the bathrooms were much larger than expected. We did lots of cooking, as we had a chef in the group, and we were very happy that the kitchen was fully equipped with all the pots and utensils one would want. The owner was very attentive to our needs which was appreciated. We had a wonderful vacation at Rustic Lodge and would love to return. This property is highly recommended for those who wish to enjoy a beautiful lake setting with all the amenities and a cozy well appointed log cabin.

Fantastic House on a fantastic lake

My family spends a week in the Adirondacks every summer. We usually try a new house on a new lake, until we find the perfect spot. We may have just found that perfect spot with this house on Trout Lake.

The house was fantastic. It was clean, well organized, and the owners considered nearly every aspect of making our stay perfect. We are from out of state, so some owner policies of not providing linens is a real hassle. However, Ken helped us out there. We have 4 teenagers and I have to say, they were kept busy for an entire week and had plenty of space to spread out.

First off, the water access and dock are the best we have ever had in the Adirondacks. Wonderful large dock with great swimming, right off the edge. We loved the floating dock we could swim out to. The large dock allowed my son to fish and my daughters to sunbathe all at the same time. The hot tub was absolutely great. Once we figured out how to keep a fire hot in the box, it was a cinch to keep the water warm all week. We were in and out of that all week long, day and night. My only recommendation to the owner was for a better fire pit. We love sitting around the fire at night. There is one pit on the far side of the boathouse, but it is not convenient, or in a nice place to sit. We did have a nice fire in the box on the dock, but making a nice pit there would be the final touch to a nearly perfect place to stay.

The lake itself is gorgeous. We fished every day and the owners providing a small motorized boat, kayaks, and canoe were perfect. We used everything and had such fun. The lake is deep and fishing was loads of fun.

The house is really great for a family. The 3 bedrooms upstairs accommodated our 4 teenagers very well. My wife and I stayed in the downstairs bedroom and loved the convenience to the kitchen for a late night or early morning cup of coffee. We really loved the cozy atmosphere of the house as well. Having a fire in the fireplace was a perfect end to every night.

We really can't wait to come back. When my wife says this was her favorite house, that means something. Thanks to the owners for making our stay so memorable. They are great people and really do care about their guests. I will say, all the amenities really do make a difference.

Thanks!
