Oven Mountain Chalets

Like my son said, this is the best cottage we ever stayed. I was little hesitant to book this place at the beginning because lack of reviews. At the moment I arrived, I realized this cozy cottage is totally out of our expectation, kitchen with full equipment, just like our own house. Everything are newly renovated, clean, and super friendly owner. My family of four spent one week during the New Year vocation for ski at Gore Mountain. Highly recommended to anyone ever visit this area.

Great Place to Stay in the center of lots of activities!

The location is very close Mt. Gore as well as Dynamite Hill recreation area which offers a lot of free fun activities for families. The owners Bill and Suzie took great care of us! From the sparkling clean chalet to the really awesome Christmas decorations everywhere. There was even a Christmas tree! No doubt they will have the place immaculate no matter what the season. They even plowed the private drive to the chalet, so thoughtful! They were very responsive through email and made us feel welcome and taken care of but also gave us our space. Just the right balance for us! The chalet is a large very comfy studio, with a very large balcony. We have a 3 and 1 year old and felt very safe to have them roam inside the chalet. Our eldest also really loved the grounds which are a wildlife sanctuary with ponds and a huge birdhouse. I am sure there is great bird watching in the summer. All in all we would love to come back in the winter or any season.

Oven Mountain Chalet

Our family of three (2 adults, 1 child) greatly enjoyed our weekend at the chalet. The accommodations are absolutely gorgeous with beautiful wood and rustic decor throughout. The owners provided everything you might need - pots, pans, dishes, utensils, coffee, salt and pepper, shampoo, soap, etc. We were even gifted a basket of fresh organic vegetables from their garden, and the owners had filled several vases with fresh cut flowers, such a lovely and generous touch! We took the row boat out for a quick paddle around one of the ponds and enjoyed strolling along the wetlands to do some birding and wildlife viewing. The fire pit has lots of benches for easy seating, and the owners provided plenty of dry firewood for the length of our stay (we had a great campfire with s'mores one night). The beds are comfortable and with lovely linens, and our 7-year-old liked watching a favorite show on the smart TV before bedtime. Our favorite part was the beautiful and spacious screened-in porch with a large table and benches - we took almost every meal here. The porch has a great forest mural with a Northern saw-whet owl and chickadees, we loved it! We hiked Crane and Meade and Beckman Mountains while staying at the chalet, both trailheads are a short drive away. We hope to return soon! Thanks for a fantastic stay!

It was with great pleasure having your family stay at Oven Mountain Chalet's. We were so happy to hear you enjoyed a boat ride on the pond. Did some bird watching, was able to hike some of the mountains close by. But most of all, that loved your stay in the Chalet,finding it had some of the things you may needed for your stay. We hope hope to make the Chalet feel like home to everyone. It gives us great pride in sharing the simple pleasures, like flowers and veges that we love and grow. Oven Mountain Chalet

My family and I stayed in the chalet for two weeks at the end of July into august. My husband and I were able to comfortably sleep in the queen bed and our children were on the two built in twins. It was very comfortable and homey. Plus side being that it was easy to clean and keep up with during that time. They provided cleaning supplies in the entry pantry that we needed to keep sand and chips off the floor.The owners house is relatively close by, but we did not hear any noise and the curtains allowed us to feel secluded (almost too easy to sleep in!) This time of year the bugs can be pretty bad, but the balcony was completely screened in. We enjoyed having drinks and coffee out there. The air unit they have inside kept the place very comfortable the entire time even on the very hot days. One of my favorite parts was the bathroom! There were big towels, the shower cubby, and a deep tub. My husband and I arent small people, but we could take baths without the hot water running out. Another was the televisions ability to rotate toward the counter/table area. My kids could watch shows while enjoying dinner/dessert without getting food all over the beds. The owners are very sweet and accommodating. If there were any concerns or questions we were able to call or meet up with them around the property. My kids loved catching frogs, newts, fish, and even a baby painter turtle! It was a fantastic two weeks and I highly recommend staying here

Oven Mountain Chalet

What more can we say, it was*wonderful*.Cozy and beautifully renovated, it had everything we needed for a simple and relaxing vacation as a family. it was clean and the linens were soft and comfy. Even though we could see the owners house, the spot was so private that wed often forget we weren't the only people for miles. The screened in porch was magnificent- it's where we had meals and coffee. Our 4-year old has a lot of fun. She did yoga on the tv and played with the puzzles and games at the cabin and enjoyed seeing baby snapping turtles and other wild life. Owners were amazing, we can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our vacation. we can't wait to go back. If you are looking for a quiet, simple, and homey modern space, this is it.
