We hope to stay again soon

We had a great stay at this cabin. The cabin is well kept and centrally located in the Adirondacks. We hope to stay again soon.

The cabin is spacious, clean and comfortable

My family and friends (4 adults & 2 teens) stayed 5 nights at Todd's lovely retreat in late July. The cabin is spacious, clean and comfortable. We had fun playing balls in the front yard, just be careful of balls dropping in the little pond. It took some effort to retrieve them. The little ballard, air hockey and pin pong combo table provided us with hours of entertainment during couple of afternoon showers and at night, considered we couldn't get the cable TV to work. It's really hard to get cellular reception in and around the house, so if you're looking for some real R&R without work calls or emails, it's definitely the place to stay. LAN phone and Wifi is available, but your boss doesn't have to know. My family and friends really like the location. It's away from the tourist crowd yet close to everything. The people are very friendly. A neighbor few houses up the hill sell fresh eggs. The only complain I have is probably the bugs. But it's part of life if you want to visit the regions other than the winter season and in wooded setting, so have the bug repellents handy. Plus I heard there was lot of rain in June, so that made it worse. Short walk to the lake, but 99.8% of lake front space are private. The only public lake front area requires 2 to 4 minutes car ride. The area is tiny (about 100 ft), but nice. We pretty much have the whole place to ourselves (think about your own private beach but on much smaller scale). Public parking is right next to the firehouse and library across the street. If you want nicer lake front beach, I suggest you check out Schroon Lake beach which is at the end of Fairfield Ave. It's about 10 to 12 miles away. I personally love it. Todd was nice enough to let us use his canoe at the dock; however, if you don't want to swim to the middle of the lake to drag in the canoe because the kids dropped the paddles in a panic, check the canoe thoroughly for wildlife before having them depart the dock. I did enjoy the swim however. It was a nice exercise. Overall, our stay was nice and we really enjoyed the house and all the fun fill memories. I highly recommend The Bull House restaurant in Chestertown. The manager and waitress was extremely friendly with great service and food. Todd was not at the house during check-in, but provided instructions few days prior. Everything was smooth as butter and he was reachable by phone. He was extremely helpful in offering suggestion for restaurants and accommodating us with some special requests. It was a pleasant experience dealing with Todd.

We enjoyed the space very much

We enjoyed the space very much: the cabin has a very spacious downstairs with a big kitchen/dining/sitting area. On the other side of the stairs, there is a big living room space with a TV and a couple of sofas. The three bedrooms upstairs are very small, but manageable. There is a full bathroom on each floor. The outside space is nice with a fire pit and a grill in the back, as well as a large lawn in front and on the side of the house. Our kids enjoyed the fire pit and running around on the lawn. Our biggest concern was not with the house, but with finding a decent beach access. You can reach Brant Lake by bike or by car, but every possible access was private. There is a very small public "beach" that is very small and not very picturesque. Also keep in mind, that the cabin is located on a pretty busy street. It may have been especially busy because of the holiday weekend, but we were hoping to be able to ride our bikes with kids around the lake and in the neighborhood, but the roads are narrow, cars were going too fast, and there were no designated bike lanes. We did see many adult cyclists zooming by the cabin, so the surroundings might be better suited for adults, not kids.

A very convenient location to stay at for hiking and outdoor activities in the area

Although my friends and I never met Todd in person, he gave us very clear directions on how to get to the house key, as well as a list of rules for the house directly inside the house. The house was easy to find, very spacious, very comfortable, and we LOVED the ping pong/pool table. We did not use the fireplace, however we made good use of the kitchen, which was well equipped with pots and pans, dishes, glasses, and a working dishwasher (helpful for cleaning 5 peoples' worth of dinner dishes). The showers had plenty of hot water, and since there were two bathrooms, we never had issues with someone needing one of them. The place itself is easy to find, located in its own corner of the street, and has a great yard. My friends and I were able to throw around a football in the yard and enjoy running around. We were saying perhaps on a weekend where it did not rain at night we would've been able to try out the outdoor fire pit. The only cons we can think of are that there were ants and bugs that got in the house. Since it's more of a rustic house and it was planned as an outdoorsy trip, it wasn't a huge deal, but I would just recommend checking the doors and windows when you go in and out. Also, Todd makes it clear in the listing that they do not help with bottle returns, so just make sure to plan ahead for that. Luckily Todd told us about the local supermarket that you can take bottles to (10 minutes away). Overall, a very convenient location to stay at for hiking and outdoor activities in the area. The house itself was comfortable and although my group only consisted of 5 people, it would definitely be able to house the max number recommended.

Exactly what we needed

The cabin was exactly what we needed. Todd was very accommodating and flexible. We were 6 guys getting away for a bachelor party and the cabin was the perfect resting spot for grilling and sitting by the fire. Plenty of activities to do in the area.

The cabin was great

The cabin was great - the two working fireplaces really added to the feel of of the rustic feel of the cabin, probably the favorite part. Plenty of space to hangout and catch up with friends around the fireplaces. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen space met all of our needs. We were right up the road from Brant Lake and only about a 25 minute drive from Lake George - great location. The only issue was, due to the freezing temperatures throughout the week, the well froze and unfortunately we didn't have running water for the first night. However, Todd was extremely attentive and gave us a few options. We decided to stay and made the most of it for Friday night because we were already settled - it didn't affect the trip at all . He even had his neighbor delivery us water to get through the night. Todd was there first thing in the morning on Saturday and quickly took care of the frozen well, which we greatly appreciated. I guess you cannot really account for mother nature! 4 stars - the cabin perfectly accommodated our party of 7. The only downside was out of everyone's control. Thanks, Todd!

It had that perfect Adirondack charm we were looking for!

We had an excellent time at Todd's House! It had that perfect Adirondack charm we were looking for! The pictures don't do the architecture of the house justice. From the start Todd was very accommodating and quick to answer any questions. Check In and Check Out were a breeze, and the flexibility suited our schedule excellently, as we had to leave very early in the morning. The house was immaculate and had all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The working fireplace was definitely a hit, as well as the game table, and provided board b We had a party of seven and the house fit us all very comfortably. One of the highlights of the Brant Lake Adirondack Cabin is it's location, in the adorable small town of Brant Lake it is reclusive enough to feel like a real getaway, whilst still being convenient to lots of adventure. Recommended outings: -Dippikill Wilderness Retreat for light hiking/snowshoeing -Sleeping Beauty Mountain for a great summit hike with great views (a bit of a drive, but well worth it) All in all we had a perfect getaway and highly recommend Todd's house to anyone interested in exploring the Adirondacks!

I would highly recommend this place

This place was amazing! The pictures really don't do it justice, it's beautiful inside and perfect for a weekend getaway. It immediately felt cozy and like home when my friends and I stepped inside, the decor was very warming. It was a bit difficult to find local grocery stores and restaurants without having to go on the highway, but that's what you sign up for when you choose a place in the Adirondacks. If you're looking for a place where you can sit by a fire all day or somewhere close to a ski mountain, I would highly recommend this place.
