Hi I love the area of Hunter and Windham, NY.I moved here in 2012. I love the beauty of nature and being outdoors, love skiing and hiking and hope you do too :-)
It is a charming cottage by the stream. We really enjoyed our stay. The stream was beautiful and made our stay memorable . The cottage was cosy and just enough for our family of five.
The patio behind the house has the potential to be beautiful.
The upper deck needs some chairs to be put out to make it more enjoyable . The Mountain View is picturesque. Guests will be better off if they carry their own stock. There was no sugar. We had to go to the nearby grocery store. The kitchen too needs a brush up on the pots, pans and glassware. There were no whiskey glases.
The lower floor was a bit damp and we had to empty the water of the humidifier every two hours. It is not exactly a secluded stay as The bed and breakfast and the owner is also at the premises.
However , the beautiful cascading little waterfall and the stream and the Adirondack chairs laid out by the stream made up for every thing. It is the show stealer.
A beautiful property with a whole lot of potential!!
We look forward to going back again.

The house was as advertised. Fireplace was a great touch on a cold winter day. Perfect for a ski trip. Only met Agnes for a bit while checking in/out, but she was friendly and welcoming. Worth the price, and would stay again.

Large house, can definitely accommodate a big group. The wood stove is great for cold winter days. The house is very close to Windham and Hunter so great location for those skiing or snowboarding. The house had all the kitchen supplies we needed and there are a lot of features that we wish we could have used were it not for the cold weather.

Very cozy cabin feel with everything you’ll need! Very spacious and easily accommodated our group. There’s a gas station/convenience store 5 mins away and a bigger grocery store just 15 mins away. Perfect spot for a skiing/snowboarding trip with Hunter Mountain 15 mins away. Great location for a nice getaway to disconnect and spend time with friends and family! Thanks Agnes!

Agnes' place was extremely nice and clean. Great check in and check out. Agnes made my trip enjoyable and provided a lot of help. It was a great experience!

The cottage was in a quiet and calm area with beautiful views of the spring colors and mountains. Check in was a breeze and Agnes ensured we had everything we need and offered to be available should we need anything more. It was a warm weekend so we didn’t use the wood stove. The big gas grill was awesome and we had a great time grilling in the evening. Quite a few places nearby for sightseeing or just enjoy a serene day lounging by the creek at the back of the house. Overall a great stay!

My family enjoyed our stay! Agnes and husband were very welcoming. The house was next to a creek and had a fire pit right next to it- we were able to build a fire each night and make s’mores. Close to a lot of great hikes. We enjoyed Kaaterskill falls a lot. Great for a laid back, unplugged vacation.

We had a fantastic stay at the cottage! The cottage itself is comfortable and cozy, had every amenity we needed for the weekend, and the AC was great for a hot summer weekend. The property is large and scenic. Despite there being guests at the B&B, we had plenty of room on our side of the property and our weekend felt totally private. Lots of space to play lawn games, grill, and eat our meals outside. We also enjoyed the stream behind the cottage. Our host responded to messages quickly. Overall a great weekend, and our friends are already saying we should book again next summer!

Pros: cozy old-fashioned house, comfortable beds. the house is laid out such that if you need to have people sleeping in the living room on the pullout, there is a bathroom on each floor so no one has to worry about waking others up during the night. The creek is GREAT. Bring water shoes with treads (the rocks can be slippery).
Cons: This is the first time I've had to leave a negative review, and I dislike doing it, but feel responsible to future potential guests.
When we arrived, the host confronted us in an aggressive and disrespectful manner about parking in the wrong place. She had given us no specific information about rules for parking (just "you have your own house with your own driveway and parking space"), so we guessed. It seems that she was worried we would run over a pipe buried underground, but they didn't have that area marked, so how did she expect us to know? Also, we hadn't been parked over the pipe, we parked in the driveway. On top of all that, she berated my father about it, who hadn't even been the one driving. It was all very strange and upsetting, and we felt unwelcome for the rest of the week.
We otherwise enjoyed our stay, but in all honesty I can't say we would stay there again. We are pretty conscientious as a family, and the stress of not knowing if something was going to set her off again put a cloud over our vacation.
