About Cheryl & Jim Santos...
My husband Jim and I moved to Cayuga Lake in 2002 - he from Pine City NY and me from Hawaii. We both are naturally drawn to water, so Cayuga Lake was our chosen place. My husband has 3 grown children and he retired in 2012. Now our children are of the four-legged sort (we have friendly tale-wagging dogs and we invite you to bring your dogs along). We live directly across the street from the cabin and we are always available if you need anything. We take great pride in providing a clean, comfortable vacation property, and it is important to us that you have a wonderful vacation experience. We want to ensure that you’ll make memories here that will stay with you for a lifetime.
Jim stick-built this cabin in 2015. We chose Cayuga Lake for its natural beauty, the variety of things to see and do in close proximity, yet also the tranquility of country living. We envisioned building a cabin here so we could share this unique area with others, providing a comfortable retreat for our guests. We designed and built the cabin as a contemporary modern space yet with rustic charm.
What makes this cabin unique.....
Situated in a sunny field adjoining the woods, this log cabin is a tranquil retreat. It is very spacious for 2 – 6 people with an open floor plan, cathedral ceilings, and 2 private bedrooms. It is impeccably clean and is well equipped with most necessary items. A walking trail across the street gives you access to Cayuga Lake. The cabin is centrally located on the Cayuga Wine Trail. Nearby are hiking trails, biking paths, and quaint shops. The cabin rental costs less per person than many hotels, plus you have your own private space. The radiant floor heating warms the cabin to a cozy temperature on cool nights. It is also air conditioned for your comfort in summer months.
This property is within easy access to several state parks that have gorges & waterfalls. It is clean, has a full kitchen, fire pit, pretty little porch & even hummingbirds! Cheryl & Jim were always available, accommodating & friendly. The state parks were amazing, & Taughannock Falls was spectacular! I would highly recommend this property if Cayuga Lake is your destination.

Easy to rent. Gave 4 stars instead of 5 due to the very uncomfortable mattresses. Had a hard time sleeping each night.

We overall really enjoyed our stay in Cayuga Lake Cabin "B". These cabins are spectacular! Cheryl and Jim thought of pretty much every detail, and they are lovely, hospitable people. There were only two of us, but it would have been ample for four or even six. Being accustomed to hotels, it was wonderful to have a fully outfitted kitchen during a trip, and it especially came in handy with limited food options in the immediate area. The main room was really comfortable, and the property is super peaceful and whisper quiet -- we never heard a peep from neighbors the entire week. A few notes: If you stay in Cabin "B" over summer, the bedrooms don't have their own air conditioning units, and we were unlucky to have gotten a week with warm and humid nights -- we like it cold for sleeping, so we ended up sleeping in the main room on the fold-out couch. Also, the lake access (across the street from the cabins) is beautiful, but it's a workout to get there even if you're in some shape -- it's down a steep hill with lots and lots of stairs. But we found that neither of those things truly affected our stay. Staying in Cheryl and Jim's cabin was a really nice change of pace!

Clean, comfortable, well stocked cabin that met all of my family's needs for the weekend. The hosts were also extremely welcoming and made it clear they were available if we ran into any issues during our stay. The location is also ideal and we'd happily stay here again!

Cabin was beautiful. It was a little awkward when the owners showed up at 830am after our first night . Then again the second morning at 930am to remind us of the time change . I would stay again but would rather have owners greet us at check in. Great location for doing wine tours on cayuga and Seneca lake. There is also lake access . My wife and I had amazing weekend .

This was our first visit to the Cayuga Lake Cabins. Booked it for our annual Girls’ Weekend getaway. Close to wineries and all area State Parks (highly recommend visiting Robert Treman, Taughhannock Falls and Buttermilk Falls).
What a surprise it was to find that these rustic looking cabins are actually well-equipped and beautifully constructed. The owners, Jim and Cheryl, are super-friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Cheryl maintains a well-stocked binder about the surrounding area/activities and she gave wonderful advice on where to eat, wineries/breweries to visit and general touristy information.
Cabin C was under construction during our visit. Jim designed/constructed the cabins, so you can see where the attention to detail plays in The 190-step trek down to the beach/lake deck is well worth it. Pack your picnic lunch and spend the day!
Highly recommend; can’t wait to come back!
