My brother and I and our family's own the property. It has been in our family for over 100 years. We love the area and enjoy sharing the area with others.
Very nice property. Had plenty of room and was in good condition. Enjoyed the dock, the deck, the grill, and the fire place. Would be great place to hang out in the summer. Fall was nice too, the kids went swimming at the dock even tho the temp were cool. Great weekend. The owner was in town and came down to welcome us. No issues.

We enjoyed our stay. Great location, very nice owner(s). Water access was great. We were able to launch and dock boat on premises. The only complaints is that some of the beds were not comfortable and the sliding door kept coming off track. Other than that, I would recommend.

This property couldn't be in a better location and has great amenities. The only thing I would change would be window fans for each room since the property does not have AC. During our stay it was humid and the one room with a window fan cooled so much better than the others. Other than that the home is in a perfect location with great amenities. The setup is great and can sleep a lot of people comfortably. Would definitely stay here again.

The property is great in regards to the lawn and beach frontage. BUT you do not get the entire house, the family is constantly in and out of the basement area and around the entire property. This starts before 8am with things banging and garage doors opening. We were confronted by Sandy within 30 minutes of being there about putting our things in the basement (since we thought we rented the entire house) she was BEYOND rude to us. This is not how you want to start a trip. She was also at the beach daily while we were there, we felt babysat. We also had a friend stop to say hi, within about 2 minutes they were running down to say he couldn't park there, he was literally saying hi for a minute and was not leaving a car there. Instead of being appreciative and welcoming they were rude and constantly coming at us with rules that were NOT outlined in the contract. We also left the place cleaner than we found it. Only rent this place if you want to vacation with the renters.

Pretty location on a quiet dead-end street on the water with many families--seems like a nice place to come with kids.. We were just staying for a long weekend to attend Cornell graduation and found it a tad rustic(our city friends complained of dust and spiders--we were ok there). Most annoying were several pages of mandates about how to clean their house but nearly no useful info (wifi password, how to use things or find things in house etc)and buried in that info was the requirement that we bring all of our own bedding and towels which was an annoying addition to our short trip. i think it would be nice for a vacation but not equipped for a short visit (no dishwasher detergent, napkins etc and you dont want to shop for only 3 days). There is a nice deck but a tree obscures the view of the water. There was a gorgeous sunset we watched from the dock however and other neighbors were all friendly on the street. Beds were comfortable. There are 4 Bedrooms and 2 baths so ample sleeping accommodations but not enough chairs for everyone if you wanted a sit-down dinner in dining room or deck.

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was great to have so much room inside. We have 3 boys and 1 girl, so the room with the 3 twin beds was perfect for the boys, and the double bed was great for the girl! It was nice that there were so many fans, because it was quite humid. Charlie & Linda were so very friendly! Everyone we met, either owners or guests, were all so friendly and welcoming. The fire pit was great - it would be good to mention in the posting not to bring firewood from other counties, as that's against the rules. The water was perfect, the dock was great, my son caught many, many fish, many different species. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that we were super close to our favorite breweries & wineries, as well as close to Watkins Glen and the awesome Global Taco food truck! We rented kayaks & a paddle board from a company that delivered them & picked them up. The deck was great, it was nice to sit out there, sip coffee/wine & read a book with some shade. However, the sliding door to the deck could use some work. It slides too far one way & leaves a gap on the other side where bugs could get in, which was a challenge getting the kids to figure it out. It was almost impossible to get in or out if you happened to be alone & had your hands full of food or drinks. The wifi worked well, & we were able to hook our xbox up to watch movies from amazon, or netflix or google, which was great on the rainy evenings. The only other thing that was a negative is how close other houses are located. There are a lot of rental properties packed into a small area, so there were a lot of people & dogs & kids & carts & cars. But like I said, everyone was so very nice! All in all, it was a great week on the lake, we couldn't have asked for better weather & our kids had a great time making memories together!

We had a great time. The house was comfortable, like returning to a family home that you hadn't been to in a long time. We will stay here again when we come back to Seneca Lake. We enjoyed spending time down on the beach, especially in the evenings with the fire on the lake and the sunsets.

This is an absolutely incredible spot on Seneca Lake. I was amazing upon driving down to this gem. The lake is massive and gorgeous and the view from this location is spectacular! What an amazing place to sit and lounge on the water and take in the sunset. We loved the fire pit located right up against the shore and the dock which is a great place to sit and chillax.
The house itself is fantastic inside. It has everything you need. It was very clean and makes very efficient use of its space by placing adequate bedding. Everything you need for cooking is there, including a very nice grill on the porch (which also has an amazing view!). Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough and would definitely love to stay here again!!

Our friends gathered for a weekend getaway. We had a great time! The bedding was comfortable and the lake was very close as it was only a short walk across the back yard. We used the grill to cook out one night and cooked in one night. The owner dropped by to offer extra K-cups as the Keurig machine was brand new. In fact, all the kitchen appliances were new. The location is close to many great wineries. The home accommodated us nicely.

This was our 3rd summer renting at Dunham's Lakeside. We enjoy this spot so much that we rented for 2 weeks instead of our normal 1 week stay. The location is perfect, flat beach area, (which is hard to find on this lake) kid safe, great dock space, nice big yard and a great spot for beach fires. The cottage is very roomy, full stocked with pots & pans and kept very neat and clean. I have my Family Reunion here each year and the owner's are very accommodating. It's close to town, where there's grocery stores and a nice downtown area to walk around. Watkins Glen State Park which has a beautiful Gorge to walk around in is also nearby. Plenty of wineries and great restaurants just a short driving distance, something for everyone. I highly recommend Dunham's Lakeside for your next vacation.
