This was my first time renting from VRBO and what a way to start. Tucked Away is an incredible home, everything you could need was here. Right on the water. My 8 year old grandson loved fishing of the dock. We went Kayaking and paddleboarding ( which came with the house), had a fire all three nights and celebrated two of my sons birthdays. The kitchen and butlers pantry were well supplied. The frosting on the cake, so to speak, was the third floor game room. My grandchildren couldn't decide what to do first. Would definitely rent here again. Loved Tucked Away, thanks Nate and Lisa

This house was everything we were looking and more. We are definitely planning on another stay in the future. We had no issues with anything and the owner was very accommodating and pleasant to talk too.

The house is stunning and perfectly located. We had a large diverse group, some like to shop, others Hike and some just want to relax. This house is perfect for all! The view from the dock is amazing and we were able to watch the fireworks in Old Forge from the dock. Thank you so much for opening your home. Had so many laughs around the large tables, and so much room for everyone to have their own space. The images on the web page does not do this place justice. Thanks again!

The house was perfect for our needs, lots of room and nicely furnished. Large laundry room off the kitchen with a second fridge and beverage cooler, as well as much needed counter space. Hot tub on the patio off the kitchen, very nice, looked brand new. Well equipped kitchen with baking pans and trays, mixing bowls, 3 sets of dishes, lots of wine, beer, and other drink glasses, an espresso maker, Keurig, and drip coffeemaker. There is a butler's pantry between the kitchen and DR that houses most of the pans as well as a large crock pot, mixer, etc.. We loved the huge dock, but aren't fans of those camp chairs in the bags so we used the ones from the patio near the kitchen. Loved the 4 kayaks, paddleboard and paddleboat. The house is near town, and yes an easy walk, my husband and I did it a few times. Even though the house is on the channel linking Old Forge Pond with First Lake, it is fairly wide and plenty deep enough for swimming, but probably very busy with boaters in the summer. You can see the town from the dock. We loved the porch, however many of the cushions were stained and in need of cleaning; same can be said for the sectional sofa in the LR, which was very dirty. I would rate it at 4.5 stars because of that. There are plenty of bath towels and kitchen towels, but I counted only 6 beach towels, not quite enough for everyone. There is a big table in the kitchen that we used for the kids, and adults ate at the even bigger table in the DR, which worked well for all. Nice to be able to house the whole family so we could enjoy a week together, we would vacation here again.

The house was way more than expected. The pictures are beautiful, but don't do justice. The house is stunning with a mix of modern and Victorian. There was not much more to ask for. We enjoyed everything about the residence. The kayaks, fire pit, hot tub, picnic table on the dock and wood burning stove were just some features that will bring us back again next year.

Our family of 16, including children and babies, had a wonderful time in this house. The location could not be better... on the water and private -- yet a short walk into the village of Old Forge. Swimming is wonderful for all. The house is much bigger than it appears. And, rain or shine, the porch is a beautiful gathering spot. Very clean. Nice linens. All the dishes, coffee makers, pots'n pans you need. Even two refrigerators. And, of course, the dock with four kayaks is amazing. Thank you, Lisa!

The home is filled with all the little things that make a nice stay even better. There is a portable Bluetooth speaker (we are getting one!), marshmallow sticks at the fire, extra cleaning/paper items around the home...the week we stayed, it was rainy and/or cold so we had a lot of togetherness time inside-this house provided all the entertainment to keep everyone occupied.

We had a wonderful stay in Old Forge. This home had everything we needed, lots of space for everyone. We were there for a snowmobile trip. The geothermal fueled hot tub remained piping hot even in negative temperatures, a life saver for our old backs!!!
The owners were very accommodating and were available for any questions we had.

For our 30th birthday a large group of friends came up to Old Forge New York for a weekend of snow activities. The house was an older home, however is very well renovated. Each room had its own thermostat perfect for groups where some prefer it hot and others cool. There are three full bathrooms in the rental. Unfortunately we did not know that one of them has a soaking tub with only a handheld showerhead, so it was a bit difficult to use and most of us avoided it. The soaking tub also used all the hot water in the house at one point, however we had hot water again within 15 minutes. The beds were okay.
The kitchen was amazing. At breakfast I sat looking out at a panoramic view of the snow coming down. We brought our own cast iron skillets for certain meals we prepped, however the kitchen itself is very well stocked with a variety of pots, pans, and utensils. The fire from the range is rather weak compared to the one I have at home, however it did the job. The refrigerator easily held enough food for the 12 of us for 4 meals.
The plan was for one group to go snowmobiling, one group to go snow tubing and a third to go snowboarding. The weekdays before our weekend trip had dumped over a foot of snow on the area which was great for our activities, however the snowtubing hills still didn’t open. The group that was supposed to go snowboarding did not have winter tires and ended up staying at the rental as well. The group that went snowmobiling had a blast.
Things to note. The caretaker has a dog. Our friends arrived early on Friday and were sitting on a couch only to find themselves covered in dog hair they couldn’t see when they sat down. One of them needed a bunch of allergy meds to clear things up so he could sleep that night. If you do not have snow tires or at least an all wheel drive with decent tires you will not be able to climb the snow covered hill to the rental! One of our friends had to leave his car near the side of the road and walk to the rental. The hot tub, when low on water, will spray water at the electrical box next to it which is rather unsettling. Make sure the water level is high enough before you turn it on. The back door did not lock, we had someone at the rental constantly, but I can see this being unsettling for some people.
