Beautiful new lakehouse with dock, walk off decks, lakeside patio and covered sitting area under porch. This family property was purchased by Macey (Wife Hazel) and his sister Nettie Woodruff in 1946 and is now owned by Grandaughters Suzanne Peckham Fraser and Sybil Peckham Carven. The old cottage was torn down in November 2020 and the new 1,800 sf lakehouse was constructed by reusing some of the materials in the original cottage including paneling, doors and light fixtures.
The name of the property is Gladimere named by a relative in the 1950's for her property in norther NY and now the name of this Crooked Lake property---Glad-I'm-Here. Macey and Hazel lived in nearby Troy, NY and would spend the summers on the Lake, specifically from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They would host the grandchildren on many days and nights during the summer months for swimming, fishing, water skiing, Kayes Pizza trips and anxious moments waiting for the Freihofers truck to stop by.
During the 90's Suzanne would spend the entire summers on the Lake with her four children taking swimming lessons, water skiing, fishing and playing JailBreak with the local youth of the neighborhood. Sybil often enjoys time on the lake with her family and Shriley, Macey and Hazels only child and now 91 is a frequent overnighter at Gladimere.
The next generation of children now, 6,1 and 1 have already started to build their own Gladimere memories enjoying the Lake including ice skating, swimming, water skiing, fishing and birthday parties.
