The new Manhattan - minutes from the subway and 25 convenient to the sights of NYC. This is the perfect property for a large or small group of people visiting New York for whatever purpose. The house was built in 1919 and is 17 feet by 80 feet with three floors that include an elegant finished basement - totaling 10 rooms. It is artistically furnished and designed, but changes can be made per your request to reflect your needs.
The house is beautiful. I grew up here. Though, there is a certain rustic aspect in the basement rooms. Some guests have commented on it. These rooms are in a basement with high small windows and pipes. But it is elegantly finished with a comfortable temperature always. The rooms are small and there are no closets but there is a room off the larger room where you can put luggage and such. And in the front, there is a storage area.
We are conveniently located to Kings Theatre.
This is my home and is not a hotel.
Tourists: the subway (Q train) is a 3-minute walk - see below for times to some of New York's popular venues.
Family gatherings - great when traveling to a wedding or reunion for it is a wonderfully decorated house with a large dining room for family dinners, elegant, fully equipped kitchen and living room and even a sunroom to have fun conversations enjoying a view of Brooklyn through picture windows. There are enough televisions for downtime; a family feeling emanates. In the winter the gas fireplace adds charm.
Business gatherings - the dining room is great for meetings and if you are traveling with a group of five - each can have their own bedroom and then simply go downstairs to a beautiful dining room that serves as a conference room. However, the rooms aren't hotel rooms and do not have private bathrooms. There are two bathrooms with showers and one-half bath.
The kitchen can accommodate a banquet but the neighborhood is lively and has many shops and many, many restaurants minutes walking.
Victorian Flatbush boasts large houses from early last century - this 100 year home sits on a quiet block with birds chirping and children playing. It also has many bars and clubs on the main Road half a block away and is now attracting artists and yuppies because of its nightlife and beautiful homes.
There are three bedrooms upstairs; two have double beds and one, my office, can have a single or double aero bed or a single or double futon. Often it is the answer to the single in the group. There is room in the two large bedrooms upstairs to fit single futons and single aerobeds if required. Upstairs 4 can sleep in each of the two big bedrooms with one couple in each room and the smaller room can fit one couple. The two other bedrooms are in the lower level, finished basement; one has two single beds that can be pushed together making a Queen size bed. The other room has a double airo-bed. These rooms are quaint and admittingly small, but comfortable have rented separately to great reviews. But still they are basement rooms and you know you are in a basement. I have enough extra beds and a couch upstairs to accommodate 12 people sleeping in separate beds or 16- 18 with couples.Check the reviews I had 18 with a 5-star review. Remember there is a great deal of flexibility to switch things around; in addition in the living room, there is a comfortable couch. I often sleep on it in the winter because the room has a fabulous working gas fireplace. The house is large and roomy obviously. As stated above there is a formal dining room with a very large table for meetings. It has six cushioned chairs, but I have metals chairs that can be used to accommodate bigger groups. Two of the bedrooms can serve as offices. There is high-speed internet access and regular internet with possible printer access if requested on one computer, as well there is a large sun-room sitting area in front with rocking chairs looking onto a tree-lined block. By the way, the kitchen also is wonderful for dining and it is elegantly designed with Quaker handmade cabinets, green granite and my own paintings and photographs adorning the marble and wallpaper facades.
We are minutes from the subway and many, many restaurants and nightlife. This is area has become one of the places to go in Brooklyn according to Timeout magazine - Many restaurants line Cortelyou rd which is very active at night.
The bedrooms upstairs are all air-conditioned and the first floor is air-conditioned - the lower level is not but remains comfortable in both winter and summer. All rooms have space heaters and of course, the house is heated by steam and gas.
Remember this is a beautifully decorated house in a quiet but popular area with many shops and easy access to Manhattan.
This is my home and I love it - miss it when I am not there. You are most welcome -
Prospect Park is .8 miles down the block and it is was built by the same architects as Central Park. Includes Everything you need - Just bring your clothing and a toothbrush
High-Speed Internet - WIFI
Use of the entire house except for separate studio which was once a carriage house
Washer and drier
Living room two flat screen televisions one regular television full range of cable channels

Manhattan is a subway ride away
• Q train line
• Easy transfers to 2,3,4,5, LIRR from Atlantic Ave
• To SoHo (28 mins)
• Union Square (25 mins)
• Herald Square (30 mins)
• Times Square (35 mins)
• Central Park and Columbus Circle (about 40 mins)
The space can fit 16 people as I explained above with four couples or people willing to share a bed - but it is perfectly comfortable for 10 with four couples. There are five separate bedrooms - a total of 10 rooms. Any number 12 and above would be considered tight but, but workable!
If you have any questions or special needs just email me -
Smokers may not smoke in or anywhere near the house. They must go around the corner or to one of the benches on the corner.
Parking - street parking is readily available but be aware if you plan to leave your car as you tour, you must follow the alternate side of the street parking rules. You may block the driveway in front but unfortunately, there is no parking in the driveway! You must step on neighbors property and this would cause issues. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my home which I love- at first I did this only for the money now I enjoy also showing my home and meeting wonderful people :)

Rick was extremely accommodating to our group. He went above and beyond to prepare his place for our team for such a long stay. The crew was extremely happy with the accommodations, and I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a long term stay!

Huge house with tons of room to spread out. Rick is a super host and is more like family than a landlord. He is very attentive to making your stay special. The location cannot be beat. Very close to amazing coffee shops and stores.

Rick’s place is probably one of the best locations to stay while visiting New York. It’s an older house with some quirks, but it’s an overall good value. Close to metro and many good spots to eat. Our group enjoyed our first stay in Brooklyn.
