This is a comfortable house in a beautiful location with an awesome deck. There was a small glitch on arrival due to the cleaning service, but Jeff was immediately responsive and worked with us to fix the situation, then checked back in with us to make sure all was well. Be aware that you should bring your own linens. Overall, a relaxing Adirondack cabin experience. We would return here again.

The house was dirty and unkempt. There was no Wifi for the first several days as listed. Carpets had large stains. Light bulbs were needed in lighting fixtures. There was a large hole in the flooring in front of the shower so therefore shower could not be used. On tuesday the weather warmed up and urine smell overcame the kitchen and bathroom with the hole in the floor, additionally That day we were inundated with carpenter ants on the deck through the kitchen and throughout the house. On Wednesday we had to stay off the deck due to a hornets nest under the flooring of the decking. Wednesday night we had bats visit us in the front right bedroom. The owner was advised of these situations from the day we arrived. It took 3 days for the Wifi to be repaired. He had an exterminator spray for the ants. Both instances with the Wifi and the ants we were inconvenienced to have to wait at the house to let the servicemen in to do their jobs. Needless to say we will never stay here again. With the use of only 1 bath and no kitchen due to the disrepair and noxious odors not to mention the insect problems inside and out we feel short changed and not worth the cost. I have a cleaning service come in between each rental and spend at least 1 1/2 hours cleaning.
I received a call at 10:30 pm from them complaining about the Wifi not working and some of the light bulbs were out.
The cleaning service doesn't have time to check every bulb. They never took the time to look for the bulbs I keep in the closet.
I tried to explain how to fix the Wifi buy resetting it, but they could not or would take my direction.
I contacted Spectrum, our cable provider, that night. The earliest they could get there was Tuesday which I advised the renters.
When they arrived, contrary to what they said, the renters were not there.
I had to reschedule for Saturday when the cleaning service was there and all that needed to be done was reset the modem which I had instructed them to do.
My cleaning service advised me of the stain in the $400 rug we just bought but was unable to repair it without the proper equipment and cleaning materials in such a short time. The stain was removed the following Saturday
There was a small break in the floor that did not pose a threat and could be used. Albeit, I sent a repairman there twice to fix the floor after advising them, but they were not there to let him in.
It was repaired the following Saturday.
Any urine smells must have been from them as the bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned between each rental.
I have an exterminator come in the end of May to spray for any bugs for the season.
I had them out within four hours to address the ant and hornet issue.
The exterminator said the ants were the result of an extremely wet season.
The only way there could have been bats in the bedroom is if they left the screen door open with the light on.
We have never had a compaint about bats before.
I find their comments offensive and totally without merit.
The majority of their complaints could have been resolved if they cooperated. There unpleasant stay was of there own making.
I did everything I could to insure they had an enjoyable experience but they didn't listen or cooperate in any was to help.
My cleaning service reported that the house was left in deplorable condition and took twice as long to clean.
The only inaccuracy in the pictures is the two new flat screen TV's we just put in.
I would very seriously recommend not renting to these people.
the location of the cabin was great but is in serious need of updating very old and not everything working properly huge ant problem inside

I just had the cabin and foundation sprayed. If there were ants it’s because they left food out.
My cleaning service reported the kitchen was filly with food every where.
I will have them put ant traps out as a precaution.
I just put a new washer and dryer in for $2000.
Dishwasher is two years old.
There is a new garbage disposal and kitchen faucet.
Refrigerator Microwave and Stove are older but working fine.
Brand new 43" flat screen TV in LR and three year old 32" flat screen TV in the MBR.
Two Queen mattresses and twins are less than Two years old.
We just installed a new rug in the LR
U are renting a cabin in the Adirondack so it won't be perfect!!
The cabin needs a major update and a major cleaning. The appliances are old and do not work properly. For example, the oven, tho' self-cleaning, is filthy. The TVs were vintage 1980. The furniture older. The vacuum cleaner was crammed full of dirt. We tried to clean it, but no replacement bags were available. The windows overlooking the lake were dirty. So much for the view! We found mouse droppings on one of the beds and elsewhere.
Altogether, the cabin was not a pleasant place to stay. It was dark to start with; made worse by the fact that numerous light bulbs were burnt out. We arrived on a cold, rainy day to find no heat. After we called the next day, the owner instructed us to access the electrical breaker panel, and "flip" the breakers to get heat. Asking a guest to access the power panel is not a particularly good idea.

I own a rustic log cabin in the middle of the Adirondacks.
The appliances are not new but in excellent working order.
The cleaning service comes in before and after every rental and is suppose to clean everything including the oven.
Spectrum Cable bought Time Warner and implemented a new format changing the aspect ratio of the TV's. They are in excellent condition but can't provide a full screen with the new format. I intend to replace them this winter.
The furniture is less then five years old.
The vacuum was working fine and their are replacement bags in the kitchen draw.
Having a cabin in the woods makes it impossible to keep an occasional rodent out, albeit we have an exterminator spray and lay traps around the outside.
I have my cleaning service check the light bulbs and replace as needed and a complete set of spares are left in the kitchen cabinet.
I provide directions to the cabin including turning on the circuit breaker for heat, left off for safety reasons. Obviously they didn't pay much attention to them because I also directed them on how to operate the WI-FI an they had to call me for instructions after complaining it didn't work..
I find the review especially disturbing after I went out of my to provide them with special extended payments because they complained they had trouble coming up with the payments with HomeAway's normal payment schedule.
If your'e looking for a charming log cabin in the Adirondacks with a 170 degree panoramic view of Lake George my cabin is ideal.
If you want a modern sterile home my cabin is not for you.
This place is exactly what the Adirondacks are all about! A cozy, comfortable cabin with great views. Family of 7 stayed very comfortably. The deck is amazing. Cabin is in a quiet location but short distance to Lake George Village. Long staircase down to the dock but got my exercise!

We have been vacationing on Lake George for many years. The Sailer's cabin is the best place we've ever stayed, hands down. #1 it was RIGHT on the lake, the view from the porch was outstanding, we spent so much time out there just relaxing. #2 it was right on the lake, with waterfront access to swimming, boating, etc. Great dock, private little beach with shade, we put in some floating chairs and were as happy/relaxed as could be. Close enough to the Village so it's not a hike to get to the nightlife yet just far enough away so it's quiet. Very homey and quaint, not posh and pretentious so if you're looking for Sagamore accommodations keep driving. WE ARE A FAMILY OF 6 --> 2 parents, 3 adults kids, and 1 teen (4 men/boy and 2 women and we're not tiny). The cabin was plenty big enough with 2 twin beds to spare. For our next trip to the lake, we will definitely use HomeAway and pray that this cabin is available. Location is everything and this has the BEST location for everything. No pool but the lake in July/August is so warm and clean, it's better than a pool, and you get the waves and the para-sailers right over your head waving down at you -- so cool!!! Thank you Jeff, we had a GREAT time.

What a great week with an amazing view of the lake! The house was clean and very comfortable. The dock was perfect and we were able to get a great view of the fireworks. We had two children with us and they were able to swim and fish right off the dock while we relaxed in chairs by the lake. Our kids were 4 and 12. Great time had by all!

My wife, two year old son, and I stayed at this cabin for three nights in October 2014. We had a great stay, and recommend it if you want great views, and want to stay in a centrally located but quiet area.
The location of this cottage was perfect. about 1 mile past the touristy area of Lake George Village (maybe 5 minutes when you get off the NY Thruway). Situated on a steep hill right off of the lake, with no trees or houses obstructing the view. It was perfect. When we weren't out sightseeing, we were on the deck looking out at the lake and mountains on the other side. There is a fire pit right on the edge of the property looking out over the lake, too. A long staircase leads to a small "beach" area and boat dock. We spent only a little time here just to explore, since it was too cold to swim and we didn't have a boat. But there is another fire pit down here and a picnic area for more great views.
The house is small considering it has 6 beds (enough for 8 people) between 4 bedrooms. There were only 3 of us so the space was more than enough, but would be cramped if you were going to have more than 4 or 5 people stay. The house was relatively clean, but a little aged. The appliances are pretty old and may need to updated. The washer was broken and we didn't know about it until we got there. A minor inconvenience.
Just a heads up for people with small children, the house and yard isn't the most child friendly place in the world. In order to have a fantastic view, the house and deck are above a very steep hill, and the deck had wire railing instead of wood. This made us very nervous that our son could slip through, and it wasn't a short fall. The north side of the yard was level and safe to play on, but all other areas were off limits. Even though we always keep a close eye on our adventurous child, we had to be especially cautious on the property.
Bolton Landing was an awesome little town and only about a 5-10 minute car ride. We were here during the low season so we did not get to enjoy the beaches or a lot of the stores and restaurants since they were closed for the season.
If you stay at this cabin expect awesome views and a great location.
