Thanksgiving break
We had a great Thanksgiving break at Catherine & Diego's house in Gilboa. The house was cozy and comfortable. The Internet and streaming services were top-notch--definitely a huge plus since there is no cell service in the area. The kitchen is well-appointed and had everything we needed to cook at home. The hot tub was such a treat. We loved hiking through the trail behind the house and sledding in the front yard. Just 2 things to note: 1) the tap water has a sulfur smell, which can be bothersome if you're not used to it. It does get nice and hot though! 2) Gilboa is pretty remote, 15- 20 minutes from the typical "mountain" villages with shops, restaurants, and entertainment. We found that Chappie's in Roxbury, Chicken Run in Windham, Mountain King Brewing in Windham, and Middleburgh Winery were all worth the drive!

pretty good weekend
Watching football while sitting outside in a hot tub, kicking the soccer ball with my son in the beautiful shaded lawn and then sitting around the fire pit at night drinking wine with my wife was a pretty good weekend. Also, the kitchen was well supplied and the free pool at the very close state park was large and delightful.

Wonderful little getaway.
House and property was just as pictured. We got to enjoy the grill, the patio, the hot tub, and the fire pit. Would highly recommend!

Homey
The house was so homey, Catherine adds the sweetest personal touches, like a basket full of doggie stuff for your pets. My daughters could not help talking about how beautiful Catherine decorated the home, especially the bathroom. She was so hospitable each and every time we spoke. This is one of the rentals you will not be disappointed, the house is spotless, the cabinets are full if you need a spice or forget a condiment. The outdoor area was just as clean & lovely as the inside, my grandchildren loved all the toys, the outdoor swing set etc. I highly recommend this house & these renters for your family vacation.

Very nice place and the pictures do it justice!
Pretty small and cozy - comfortably sleeps 6 and any more than that would be a squeeze. Outdoor area was amazing and where we spent most of our time. Great place to bring a pet, but backyard not fenced in so bring a long leash. Only flag is to bring your own drinking water as the well water has a strong smell and though safe not ideal to drink. Our group had a great time and the hosts were communicative and responsive!

Everyone talked about how comfortable the beds and linens were. The yard and surrounding area was gorgeous!! Sitting on the deck, outdoor sofa or firepit area, you can soak in nature and enjoy the birdcalls! We took Catherine's recommendation to walk on the gravel road to the left of the house and the expansive view was breathtaking. Cooking was easy with all the essential cookware and seasonings. We appreciated having enough towels for bathing and hot tubbing. Catherine was promptly responsive when we had questions.
