About Donna & John Clark
Donna and John Clark began their lodging business in 1994 with one room in their home which they converted into a bed and breakfast room. Now, almost 20 years later, along with some of their grown 7 children and 16 grandchildren, they own and manage 12 bed and breakfast rooms and 4 waterfront vacation rental homes. It is a family business that has brought joy to their family as well as to the hundreds of vacationers who have stayed with them.
Donna & John Clark purchased this House in 2005
Why Donna & John Clark chose South Colton
The privacy of this property is unmatched with its 16 acres of waterfront grounds; large groups are free to enjoy their vacation without fear of disturbing neighbors. It is a recreational paradise with pontoon boat, unlimited boat gas, kayaks, paddle boards, waterfront hot tub, lit volleyball court, adjacent game building with pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, etc.
What makes this House unique
Built and equipped for large groups. Ultimate privacy. Many facets of recreation on grounds and nearby. Close proximity (1/2 hour or less) to St. Lawrence University, Clarkson University, and 2 SUNY schools make it a resource for conferences, visiting sports teams parents, etc.
4 miles away is Higley Flow State Park with sandy beach. The Beaver Pond Nature Trail has interpretive signs that describe the six distinct habitats through which the trail passes. Hiking trails double as cross-country ski trails in winter, when snowmobiling, snowshoeing and ice fishing are also allowed.
All the family enjoyed very much the stay. Was very relaxing and enjoyed the lake view. Thanks John and Donna for being great hosts. We would like to stay again. Thanks

It was great

Group of 10 adults had a blast. The game room provided endless competitive fun. The volleyball court was amazing and lights were a hige plus to provide entertainment even when the sun went down. House was very clean and the ample beds allowed everyone their own sleeping choice. The boat was an extra plus and included with the stay. Our group caught several fish. Beautiful area!!!!

It was gorgeous, my fiancee and I had stayed there after we graduated from our graduate program, our families were able to be there and it was the last place my mother was able to be with all of us before she suddenly passed. We had a small wedding ceremony and the foliage was perfect, the space was special, and it was the perfect weekend. Everything was clean and ready for us. Thank you again

Within 10 minutes of arriving, my husband said he thought this was the best place we’ve ever rented. Why? The privacy and the view. We love this area in the fall and it did not disappoint. There were so many things to do without leaving the property. Our kids are younger, so they liked learning how to play shuffleboard and ping pong. The owners were very accessible (and we really enjoyed their game). But it really is the peacefulness, the quiet, the lake, the stars… it was perfect for us!

We had a wonderful time during out stay! There is so much to do here from playing in the game room on rainy days to going for boat rides or using the kayaks and paddle boards. Our dogs had a great time swimming in the very clean water as well! We had so much fun completing the challenges/games as a family. The owners were very easy to reach and assisted us very quickly when we had an issue with the boat. Nearby there are many beautiful hikes which we explored as well. At night we would have a fire in the fire pit and sit in the hot tub and look up at the stars...it was truly a magical vacation for our family.
The only negatives I can see are that there is no bathtub just two stand up showers...this was fine really we just had to adjust how we bathed our 1 year old. And the kitchen could use a few more pots and pans...we seemed to have a hard time finding lids to match pans etc, but these are really small things

This place far exceeded our expectations! From the scavenger hunt to the decor the place was absolutely amazing. Kitchen was well equipped, property was beautiful, we saw many bald eagles on the lake, kids and teens loved the game room and kayaks, men loved the pontoon for fishing and hanging on the lake, and the hot tub was nice and well maintained as well. We look forward to returning! This place had such a cozy, homey feel to it and the owners are extremely thoughtful in everything they have put into this beautiful cabin!

Our family spent a few nights together at the Lodge. Property was clean and beautiful. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and hot tub.
Owners were very responsive and a pleasure to work with.

The house and property are amazing. The photos don't even do it justice! Very secluded property. We had about 17 grown men and we had more than enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The scavenger hunt was a ton of fun to figure out. This house has everything you could want and more for weekend getaway! 5/5 stars. Thank you John & Donna!
