Caroga Lake is an easy one hour drive from Albany or Schenectady. Enjoy the local restaurants or take a 15 minutes drive to restaurants and shopping centers in Johnstown or Gloversville. Local restaurants include Nick Stoner's Inn, Pine Lake Lodge, the Outlet and Dick and Peg's, all within 10 minutes of the cabin.

Caroga is located only an hour from Saratoga’s Race Course, Performing Arts Center and Race Track and Casino. Local attractions include Stoner’s Golf Course, walking, hiking and ATV trails, and hunting (while in season of course), and weekly motocross at Royal Mountain, all within a ten minute drive. There is also a book lending library at the Caroga Town Hall opposite the golf course. Summers in Caroga are home to the Caroga Arts Collective, which provides a weekly musical concert series.
