There are six steps going into the cottage. If you would like to enjoy the private beach, it is a 3-5 minute walk or you can drive a car down to the staircase to drop off beach supplies but you cannot park there without a Town of Riverhead parking sticker. You will have to walk up and down a long staircase as it is on the North Shore and on the bluffs. Wear appropriate beach shoes as the beach is rocky.
