Please remember you are staying in our home not a hotel. Please treat the house with respect. If any problems arise we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on-site 24/7. Cell phone coverage can be unpredictable at times, but AT&T does have coverage at the house, and actually gets great LTE data service as well. Coverage in town is available for AT&T now but may not be for others, so plan accordingly if you were hoping to call back to the house because you forgot what you needed at the store. Wi-Fi is available for use with high-speed fiber connectivity (50 down/50 up).
Our property is on a town maintained dirt road and our driveway is a mix of dirt and stone. While we the town makes every effort to keep it plowed sudden snow is common and can quickly cover the road, making them slippery. We also work to keep the driveway cleared but can be limited in larger snowfalls as it may require a front-loader which can't zip around town.
At least one four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended in the winter or a very experienced winter driver. Booking Requirements: - Acknowledgement of house rules, - List of guests - Copy of renter's photo ID

We had a nice stay and enjoyed the fall weather.

This older chalet is typical of many in New England. Not luxurious by any means but a basic cabin with basic amenities which is fine for most folks. The location is outstanding with easy access to North Creek, restaurants and convenience stores. Good internet speed, no cable but you can watch on your laptop or iPad. The lower level has all the sleeping quarters but has a musty odor that caused my wife to have to sleep upstairs on the couch since it affects her breathing. I had no issues with it, but some guests will likely find it objectionable. Moisture absorbers along with an air freshener device would help. The upstairs has a nice great room with a great fireplace, a comfy couch, and some nice lounge chairs, one of which doesn’t work. Great views of the lake and a nice deck are also available from the upper level. The fireplace was full of ashes with hot coals when we arrived so I could not clean it before making a fire. Once lit, the fireplace functioned very well. There is an ample supply of seasoned firewood. The kitchen is basic with adequate amenities. The bathrooms are modern but the water pressure is very low making even showering at times very difficult. This needs to be addressed and I have informed the owner. The bed I used was comfortable as were the pillows. While the chalet is OK it could use a good top to bottom cleaning and basic maintenance, screens don’t slide, windows don’t open, sliding glass door does not lock, windows are dirty, etc. The screens and window sills had dust and dead bugs and the bathroom lights also had dead bugs. We even found some dead bugs and white dog hair on the couch. The heating system is loud when it comes on. The light switches are confusing and could use some explanation in the house manual, especially those that have a blinking blue light. Christopher, the owner, was great to work with and was accommodating and communicated with us promptly. We have high standards for the places we rent, as such we will not return. For most folks, it is probably OK.

Great place to stay.

Perfect place for a getaway in a secluded location that’s still close to town! Very clean inside and wraparound porch was awesome for hanging out and grilling too. We enjoyed a great weekend here. The place was just as expected, just be aware the ladder up to the loft is quite steep and not bolted in so be careful! Also there is virtually no water pressure at all. Chris was very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely recommend!

Thank you for your review and feedback. Water pressure at our property doesn't match what most are familiar with but there are some environmental factors that can affect it due to the water source. I will investigate it to see if it was environmental or something we can address. We are exploring options to make the ladder less steep and more sturdy, it is a wish-list item for us as well.
Great space, beautiful home, tucked away nicely in a beautiful cozy setting. We really enjoyed our stay, thanks for everything!

This is a beautiful house up in the woods. The living space and kitchen are a great common area to hang out with your housemates and it was very clean. It also has a super cute loft bed that looks out at the sunrise over the pond, just gorgeous!
