Description
Newly renovated 5-bedroom farmhouse with spacious modern kitchen. Abuts forever wild state land with miles of hiking trails out your back door. 180 feet of lakefront with a shallow sandy bay, ideal for children. Southwest-facing property, firepit for roasting marshmallows and watching sunsets. Lakeside shaded deck, lakeside stone patio, as well as a sunny waterfront sitting area. Large open fields for family games. New 30-foot dock with mooring whips to accommodate boats up to 22 feet. New (14x24') screened-in porch with dining room table, recliner/sofa, and daybed, overlooking the lake. Second smaller porch, is quiet, and perfect for reading or catching up on work (hopefully not too much). Every bedroom with air conditioning.
Main floor bedroom with king-size bed, french doors onto the adjacent porch, and adjacent bathroom with walk-in shower. Four bedrooms upstairs with tub/shower complex. Outdoor hot shower. Lake living at it's grandest. Remote location (30-minute drive on partially paved, partially dirt road). Free firewood for campfires! Outdoor security camera at the entrance.
Frequent visits by wildlife: deer, turkeys, eagles, porcupines. Rowboat and kayak for your use. Kids sit-on kayaks (2) and kids SUP boards (2) are available.

Policies
2. We recommend you bring all/most of your food on arrival because it is a 45 minute drive to the nearest full grocery store. There are convenience shops within 30 minutes.
3. The property is on the water, the house is ~300’ from the dock.
4. The property is essentially surrounded by State Forest Preserve, and is accessed through a locked gate. You’ll have keys.
5. A boat can be docked as long as it is 22’ or less. We have a set of mooring whips which help protect the boat. If you are not familiar with their use, we can help you.
6. We supply a rowboat, a kayak, 2 kid-sized sit-on kayaks, and 2 kid-sized stand-up paddle boards.
7. There is abundant wildlife in the area. This includes bald eagles, peregrine falcon, owls, deer, porcupines, fox, ducks, geese, mice and snakes. We do not charge extra for this. Could not have been better
Our Lake George experience began shortly after making our booking. Jim, the homeowner, reached out with information about the house and surrounding area, and to answer our questions. The lovely spacious house is located on an a expansive secluded property with a lake view and easy access to endless scenic hiking trails. We enjoyed exploring the area during the day and watching the sun set over the lake in the quiet evenings while warming ourselves by a crackling campfire. The historic well-maintained house was recently renovated by skilled craftsmen who preserved the farmhouse feel. There are all the standard amenities plus elegant touches throughout that you wouldn’t expect to find in a rental property. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch with ample comfortable seating and a large table for outdoor dining. Jim was a gracious host, checking in to make sure we were enjoying our stay, and even providing a row boat for us to explore the lake. This is an ideal home base for hiking, biking, boating, nature photography, family gatherings, and relaxing. We would absolutely book this property again for another memorable vacation.
