Why Owner chose Lake Placid
We chose to buy this home because of the location in Lake Placid. The kids can walk downtown to the beach on Mirror Lake. We are 5 min walk to the jack rabbit trail and Lake Placid Lake. My husband and I love to walk out the door and walk to shops downtown as well as restaurants. The second reason we bought this particular house was the size of the house. We love to entertain and always have lots of company so we need a large house.
What makes this House unique
I love to cook and our brand new gourmet kitchen will thrill you too.
Even with lots of company i can always find privacy wether in the Library or reading a book on my day bed off our bedroom. The other wonderful thing is the outdoor Living. The large yard with the big deck the back garden and sunroom as well as the front porch with swing.

This is our family in action. We spend most of our time on our sailboat Kialoa V racing and cruising the caribbean and east coast of the U.S. so that is why our home is on VRBO. My husband and I have owned many different houses in Lake Placid over the last 27 years and we always have had them in a vacation rental program . We love Lake Placid and always come back to enjoy a week here and there during every season. We love to come back in the winter time for skating, skiing and snowboarding as well as enjoying all the olympic venues. Summer is our time for hiking, fishing, swimming and wake boarding. Fall is one of our favorite times to be in Lake Placid with the changing of the leaves. There is always some event going on in Lake Placid no matter what time of year. We love our home and I think you will enjoy it as well.

This 6 bedroom / 6 bath was spacious for our family reunion. The kitchen is amazing , the movie room, kids and the adults loved. So close to everything we needed to go to. I would suggest this place to anyone that needs a larger home!! Thank you for having a place that was truly perfect for us!!

We all agreed we wouldn't hesitate to rent this house again! The gorgeous, huge kitchen alone -- with room enough for 14 adults and 2 small children (and several dogs) to share cooking and eating space -- is enough to recommend it, but the theater, the many bathrooms, and, to top it off, the feeling that we were sharing a much loved home all contributed to a wonderful stay. When I had to call the owner to obtain the wifi password, she responded immediately. We'd love to see it in the summer when we could take advantage of the porches and yard! Maybe next year. . . . ?

We had so much fun at this house. It had plenty of room for our group with lots of bedrooms and baths to spread out into. The kitchen is awesome for cooking for large groups and has everything you’ll need. The movie room was also a hit, and it’s great to be able to walk to downtown. Thank you Eileen!

We stayed at Eileen's wonderful home for New Year's Eve. This is an amazing house, beautifully decorated, fully equipped and with lots of bedrooms. The kitchen is truly magnificent, a truly chef's kitchen which makes this house perfect for families that love to cook. This is a very spacious house that is also walking distance from Lake Placid's Main Street and very close to supermarkets. We were a party of 10 and while some of us took advantage of the amazing skiing that Lake Placid has to offer, others went winter hiking or ice skating, but we all met in the afternoon in what felt like our home for 5 magical days. The house has a foyer to leave all winter clothing before entering the main house that allows to keep the main house clean and tidy. Every single age group was enchanted with the house. The kids loved the home theater room, the adults loved the kitchen and all of us played games in its very spacious living room. We all came together as a family in its large dining room. Thank you Eileen for renting us your home.

We can't wait to return. A spirit of generosity fills this house. So many rooms to hang out in, a huge table where we could eat together, an actual theater for watching movies on a big screen, and best of all a huge kitchen with the highest quality cooking gear I have every used. It is clearly a family home, not some cold space set up just for renting out. Family pictures on the wall, quirky art all over, food staples in the cupboards. Also the location is wonderful - a few short blocks from the restaurants and shops of a cute little town, and from skiing on beautiful Mirror Lake which was frozen hard during our visit.

We had a lovely week with our large group. We had several young children and a dog and the house and yard were lovely and the location terrific.

We loved staying at this house in Lake Placid. It was a 10 minute walk to the center of Lake Placid and had an ice cream stand around the corner. Supermarket was also close by. The house fit my group of 7 adults and 6 kids. Kitchen had a nice island and large enough for us to cook in house. The side deck and yard were large enough for us to have dinner outside and provided a play space for the kids. The biggest challenge was the lack of air conditioning. We had an unseasonable week of 90+ degree weather which warmed up the house a lot. Eileen did quickly get us a bunch of fans but we were hot. We would stay here again if back in the Adirondacks!

Cute and quirky house with plenty of space for our party of 10 plus 2 dogs. It is extremely close to town - a walkable distance, and about a 20 min drive to the mountain. The dining area was a little dim for some reason but nothing we couldn’t manage. The kitchen and amenities there were excellent! Thank you for letting us stay at your home.
