Our restored Civil War-era home is nearly 2,000 square feet with three bedrooms plus a den that can be closed off at night. We added two bathrooms as well as a laundry room and recently updated our well-equipped kitchen. Every room in the house has a lake view, including two of the bathrooms! The front of our house is a covered porch with Adirondack chairs and a teak dining table.
We offer great off-season rates for our 4-season home. We are near numerous wineries and breweries, most of which stay open on weekends through winter. Our house is cozy in winter, with central heat and a gas-burning fireplace in the den. The view of the lake and the bluff out our new picture windows is fabulous. The bluff is a 10-mile-long peninsula that separates the northern half of Keuka Lake and gives it its distinctive Y shape.
In spring you can often hear the sound of the creek flowing at the edge of our property. In the fall, the color around the lake is spectacular into early November.
Our house sits above the lake. To get to our lakefront and beach area, you walk down the driveway, cross East Lake Rd. and then walk down a wide path to the lake. We have 120 feet of lakefront, with a large private beach with a dock, picnic table, Adirondack chairs and an excellent swimming area. Our yard is nearly an acre, very large compared to most houses on Keuka.
East Lake Rd. is an access road, about two miles long. It is a beautiful walking or biking road, with little traffic. We are a half mile from a hike up a creek to an impressive waterfall. We are a half hour from the spectacular falls at Watkins Creek State Park. We are 15 minutes from the Outlet Trail, which connects Keuka and Seneca lakes. You can stay right at our house and fish: the area near our house is known as one of the best bass fishing areas in the Finger Lakes.
All three bedrooms and both full bathrooms are upstairs. There are queen mattresses in two bedrooms. The third bedroom has a queen and two twin beds. We have two roll-away beds and a full-floor mattress. We have a few baby items such as a travel crib/bassinet. There is a half bath on the first floor.

Parking
We have a parking area about 50 feet from the entrance door in the rear of the house. It can park 3-4 vehicles, depending on size. There is a spot above our house where boat trailers can be kept.

One thing we've learned from decades of renting and now owning vacation rental houses is that perhaps the most important factor is whether the owner uses the house regularly. We do. We love the house and the area. We spend a lot of time at the house during the offseason, working on it and enjoying it. It's also a great place to write, which is part of my job.
When owners use a house for more than a week in the summer, they make sure the kitchen is well equipped. They make sure everything works and is comfortable. You don't want your sister-in-law complaining about the beds!
They also add to the house over time, as we have done even after the initial renovation. We love the land and we've spent tons of time getting it as beautiful as it is. There's more to do but it's been gratifying to see it come back to life over time.
Why they chose this property:
We were introduced to Keuka Lake 20 years ago by friends in Rochester. We kept coming back. We bought this house with our friends because it had spectacular potential. Restoring this house -- built as early as the 1840s -- has been a ton of work, but worth it.
What makes this property unique:
The sunset view. The secluded pebble beach. The house. The covered porch. Biking/walking along East Lake Rd. The area. The view.
The perfect place for a holiday visit with family! Everything was amazing. We had enough space for everyone but still had the cozy feel of home.

We had an amazing long weekend at this property. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything that we needed. The view from the front porch was stunning and the water front beach was amazing as well. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest but everything else about our stay was wonderful. Very close to wineries, breweries and distilleries. We had a fantastic stay.
Stayed October, 2023
We lucked out with amazing 70+ degree weather in October! Of course, the East side location is unbeatable - the perfect view! The front porch faces the lake and has plenty of seating with a good sized dining table. And the owner is DOG FRIENDLY. We have stayed at this cottage a few times over the years. Each time we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tim, the owner, is very responsive to questions and provides thorough information about the property and the area. We had a relaxing, restful stay with our 2 pups.

Lovely house, beautiful view, great beach.

This is a lovely property perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. The views of the lake from the large porch are stunning. The house is nestled between numerous vineyards and distilleries, great for exploring. Tim was quick to answer any questions and provided clear instructions and notes for the home.

We had an amazing stay! The house was perfect. Loved hanging out on the spacious front porch, playing games with family. Gorgeous view! Enjoyed the private beach area and a fire pit every evening. Kitchen well equipped with everything we needed for meals. I would recommend this gem to all.

Our family (age 5-92) stayed 2 nights while attending a family wedding at a local vineyard. The area is beautiful. The house is fantastic. It is well kept and maintained. Almost everything you could ever need was there in addition to all of the essentials. The house was spotless. The kitchen had everything necessary for preparation of all of our meals. We would highly recommend this house. Also- Tim is a great communicator and extremely accommodating.
Stayed September, 2023
This house is great. The beach area and fire pit are like having a private campsite right on the lake. Fishing was superb and we brought in 6 different species (catch and release) mostly right off the dock or general beach area. Thanks for a great place
Stayed August, 2023
This well maintained property was the perfect summer gathering spot for our family. The large porch with outdoor dining accommodated 8 adults and 1 school aged child well. Three bathrooms was also an added plus. Given the size of our group, the well stocked kitchen and new appliances were particularly appreciated. There was plenty of lawn space for outdoor play and the beach area was semi-private. All in all, a wonderful stay. We hope to return.
Stayed August, 2023
It is a beautiful property- quiet and peaceful. Walk to the water was made easy by path instead of stairs.
