We rented this house to celebrate 3 of our friends’ 25th birthday and this house did not disappoint! It is even more beautiful in real life and there was plenty of space for us all to hangout together or even have some time apart. Gene, the owner, was wonderful to deal with and was very communicative throughout the entire process to ensure we had a great trip. I definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a weekend away!

We rent the house to celebrate twenty years of friendship with our four families, and we really enjoyed it! Perfect location and amenities, plenty of space to play outside, and easy communication with the owner. Stunning views! It is really a five stars.

An absolutely beautiful home, well equipped for any needs that may arise. Breathtaking views of the Adirondacks to be enjoyed inside or outside. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel remote however close enough for easy quick trios into town. Great place to get together with friends or family and just relax in nature's beauty!

Had the greatest time with our group of 5 couples and 3 singles. All couples had private rooms and three guys used the two bunks and a trundle in another room. Fire pit, got tub and sauna all saw use and worked flawlessly adding to great times outdoors. Group gathered inside and out for great times. Firewood chopped and ready to go. Wow! More later if I can edit this.

The place was absolutely beautiful and the location was perfect. Perfect view of the mountain range and not too far from the town of Lake Placid (12 mile drive). The cabin was immaculate inside and had plenty of room for our entire large family. There was 16 of us and plenty more room if we had more guests coming. The amenities were top of the line and there were no shortcomings to what this vacation rental provides its guests. I would highly recommend the Grand Jay Lodge for anyone to reserve as a vacation destination.
Thank you to our host Gene for allowing us to stay in such a beautiful home to celebrate an important family event!! Five stars definitely.

I'm a member of the Columbia University Cross Country running team, and my teammates and I came to the Lake Placid area in order to run on trails and train for preseason. This house and location was absolutely perfect! The house was more beautiful than the pictures and had all of the amenities one would need for a relaxing getaway- a hot tub, renovated bathrooms, a great speaker system, a game room and amazing mountain views! The kitchen/living area is very spacious and was perfect to accommodate our large group and serve as a place to eat, hang out and drink morning coffee together. Further, Gene was extremely responsive and helpful! He answered every question in a timely manner and was so pleasant to rent from. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to vacation in the Lake Placid/Keene/Willmington/Jay region!

Last weekend (July 23, 2017) was the Lake Placid Ironman event. We had two people competing, and a lot of supporters. My task was to find a home that would accommodate about 18 active people. By active, I mean folks who want to run, bicycle, hike, fish, cook, swim, sit in the river, cook good meals, etc. Hot tubs are usually a necessity for this group.
So our search led us to VRBO and a property owned by Gene Mishkevich. I talked to Gene, and he could not have been more friendly or accommodating. After he heard about the size of our group and our plans, he recommended a different property of his, which is Jay View Lodge. I believe he had recently acquired it, and was in the process of making some additions to it. Based on his helpfulness and the photos that he sent of the place, I immediately agreed. And I'm so glad I did.
It's a beautiful lodge, and everything was clean and in good working order. Rustic character, but really a luxury place. Nice bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen (we did not expect this, but you don't have to bring anything at all!), lots of bathrooms, nice deck, great gas grill, a fire ring that was perfect for sitting around and watching the stars at night, the hot tub, the dry sauna, the rec room (had some great ping pong tournaments...), the large screen TV- it really was perfect for our group. It's about 21 miles from Lake Placid, in a secluded area which was great. Great bike ride into Lake Placid if you wish (be warned- a major hill if going in through Keene!), and just gorgeous scenery.
All of us had a tremendous time, and Jay View Lodge would be our first choice if our adventures bring the group back to Lake Placid. Highly Recommended!

We rented this home at the same time we rented grand meadows for a large group of about 36 people. The property was wonderful, well stocked with items you would need (cooking pots, measuring cups, paper towels, etc...). The property manager was easy to get a hold of, and was more than accommodating of such a large group (it was a bit difficult coordinating that many people and Gene worked with me every step of the way). I really have no complaints about this house, everything worked and looked exactly like the pictures

I recently visited Grand Jay and Grand Pines Lodges with a group of extended family members who had all traveled to town for a family event. From the initial inquiry through to the checkout Gene was incredibly responsive and accomodating in all interactions. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed for the babies in the house, including cribs and high chairs. Unlike many vacation homes I've stayed in previously, the house was stocked with more than enough towels, toilet paper, trash bags and the likes so that other than bringing food, all you need to worry about is showing up and relaxing.
Both houses were beautiful and filled with all the amenities you could need for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway near Lake Placid. I would highly recommend any of Gene's properties and will certainly be back again with my family next time we're in the area.

Just got home from our ski weekend at Whiteface Mountain, and everyone wishes we could have stayed another day! Grand Jay Lodge was amazing. So roomy and comfortable. There were 6 families and we did not feel cramped at all. We had fun making meals together and playing board games at the table. The house was really close to the mountain too. Skiing at Whiteface was awesome! It was a lot larger than we anticipated. Plenty of great trails for all abilities!
The homeowner Gene was so great to work with, start to finish. He was super responsive with any question we had. We all had such a great time!
